How far do you hit your wedges..

Just out of interest, how far do you hit your wedges and what wedges are you using?I have just got back from the field with my new Ping tour W 56 Degree, which i was hitting it around 75 yards and my Taylor made TP 54 Degree which i was hitting around 85 yards.
I was thinking of putting my 54 Degree on ebay and going for another Ping tour in 50 or 52 degree as my pitching wedge has about 47 degree,s of loft on it.??

Your thought,s would be much appreciated on this. Thanks

Re: How far do you hit your wedges..

If your PW is 47, and you have a 56, the 52 makes the most sense. What is your 9 iron? If 9 iron is 44, I would consider having the PW bent to 48. If it is 43, I'd keep the PW at 47. Either way, the 52 degree makes the most sense to me.

My average yardages:

44 PW: 95
48 GW: 85
52 GW: 75
56 SW: 65
60 LW: 55

Typically on an average day these are all plus/minus 10 yds. When I pure it, I hit 15-20 yds over these averages.

Re: How far do you hit your wedges..

46* -- 100 - 140
51* -- 50 - 100
46* -- pitch-and-run inside 50
56* -- pretty much sand only
60* -- extra tight pin placement inside 50 (rarely used)

Kinda strange looking, I know, but this is what works best for me right now.

Re: How far do you hit your wedges..

For distance:

48* - 135 yards
56* - 115 yards
60* - 100 yards

But I don't use my full swing. So...

48* @ 120 or less yards
56* @ 100 or less yards
60* @ 75 or less yards

Then again, what matters most is the lie. Since I can control my distance, clubs choice really depends on what kind lie I have and what type of shot I want. Go with what you are comfortable with. I would always rather go up a clubs with relaxed swing rather than trying to kill the ball with a shorter club.
