DALLAS Golf

Hello,
Traveling to Dallas next week and looking to get a round in. Anyone have an opinion on Bear Creek at the Hyatt or The Links at Waterchase? Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: DALLAS Golf

Used to love 10 minutes from the airport. Go play Cowboys Golf club near the airport. Thats a great course. Bear Creek is ok.

Castle Hills is usually in great shape. To save a few dollars grapevine golf course can be challenging and a good value.

Texas Star is another good one within 25 miles of the airport.

If it were me and I was going to play a public course I would go to Cowboys even though it costs more.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will have to check that course out next time I am in town.

Thanks Birdie,

I saw the Cowboy club but was hesitant to pay the fee, if it is that good I may have to bite the bullet.

Do you think they will take offense to my NY Giants headcovers?

Re: DALLAS Golf

Nah they are good sports! I grew up in CT and a big Giants fan -- a few years back I was hitting balls at the range there and the Big Tuna dropped his balls right next to me. That was a treat. He is a big guy.

The price includes food etc. I really like the layout. The jets flying into DFW can be annoying and search the web for coupons -- sometimes they have coupons and in the summer there are some good discounts after 3 or so and you can easily get 18 in.

Another one that the course is less challenging, but in great shape is Bridlewood out in Flower Mound. Tour 18 is out that way too, but over-rated.

Re: DALLAS Golf

birdie,

Thanks for the tip, played The Cowboy club on my trip and it was well worth the money. Funny part is I was hooked up with a member and all my fears of having to deal with a Cowboy fan were erased when I found out on the first tee that he was a Rhode Island transplant and, you guessed it, a DIE HARD Patriots fan! He was also a great guy and we had a blast.

thanks again

Re: DALLAS Golf

Glad you had fun down here in Texas. I have ben to the Cowboys club a few times and it is definately a nice course with first class service. They will go out of their way to make sure your experience is great.
