different courses.. different greens... aggravating

The course I usually play (due to its affordability and very close proximity) has bermuda greens, which are REALLY slow. They're in good shape... well kept.. but I think they're the slowest greens I've EVER played on (ive been playing about 13 years).

A couple days ago I decided to try another course after work. They had bent greens... they were fast as heck to me! Took me a bit to get used to them.

Eventually I caught up to the group in front of me, and because it was so slow I played the last few holes with them. They were complaining the whole time how slow the greens were. Yikes!

Wow.. Thats somethingI just have to get used to gfor highschool golf. Every course's greens are different.. We have about 30 min- an hour for warm up so we have to get how hard they are and how fast in that lil time..

I think that this is one of the greatest part of this game. The courses are never the same. I think that that is awesome. It really makes you pay attention to the differences and to always be trying to learn something that may help you in the future. So, in this case, what you'd call aggravating, I'd call great.

The difference between the slowest greens and the fastest greens that I have played is so enormous that there should be different names for the games and strokes played on them! I have mishit medium length putts by very embarassing margins on either type.

Re: different courses.. different greens... aggravating

The only thing that kills me is when the same course has different speed greens. That's just annoying.

Otherwise, I do love the character of different courses. The beauty of golf!
