How's this score for a first timer

i hit a 49 on a 9 hole game. is that a good start or not so good. it was the first time i played golf. a couple friends showed me the basics in stance and swinging and then we started. i didn't play handicap. i dn't know what its called but i would tee off at the white marker, not the red.

If you shot 49, and counted all of your strokes (including whiffs) and sunk all your putts that was a FANTASTIC score. You've got a future in this game.

Yep a 49 is very good. I remember when i first started playing i was shooiting high 50's, i was younger too. But i was really happy to shoot 49 the year after i started. Great score.

Thumbs up

I would say that it you taken no mulligans, no givemes, and no out of bounds , that is one fantastic score for a first timer.

Was it a 3-par course? (Or is that evident from the original question? Obviously, I'm new, too...)

On my 3-par course, I shot a 60, I think, the first time I played it and kept score. Have been whittling it down to low 40s since then. I shot a 49 or 50 the third time I played, I think.

hahahha sweeeeeeeeeeeet.... well i think its thanks to my drive. i guess i'm naturally good at it like happy gilmore. i usually hit 200 to 250... 150+ if i'm doing kinduv badly... but my swing when i'm using like an iron isn't so good. so i'm trying to work on that before the next time i play.

OH i just forgot sumthing. i used a range-ball for most of my game. does that affect the score? does a range ball go farther than the other balls? because if so i guess that will affect my score.
