Rules & Regs

What are the regs as far as how many clubs you can carry? And how do they decide whether or not a club "fits" standards?
I try to play as best as possible conforming to the standards, but am I trying to hard?

14 clubs is the max, per USGA and R&A. You can carry less but not more.

Golf

You either confrom to the standards and play golf, or you don't conform and play some other game that just resembles golf. ;)

14 is all you get. It's finding the best 14 clubs for you that's the hard part. Since you live in Italy, your clubs should be "conforming" as determined by the R & A. Here in the US we are governed by USGA rules and their conforming standards. The two governing bodies don't always see eye to eye, but they're working on that. Playing your best and playing by the rules is never a bad thing. The reward is knowing that when you do play well, you've done everything right and can be proud of your "untainted" accomplishment. Good luck with your 14!
