Are you a betting man? (or woman!)

Just wandering if any of you have a little bet from time to time and how do you go about picking a contender.

I am assuming you mean for a golf tourney. My golf league, there is a group of us who have a fantasy golf league going on. Every week you get to pick a player and you will be awarded their winnings for the week. Everyone ponied up $40 at the start of the year, winner take all. For majors we throw in $5 and we pick players from the top 50 in the rankings. It is a blind draw, with one of the picks being "The Field", so if someone from outside the top 50 wins you get it.

It's fun, gives you someone different to cheer for each week. I have learned a lot about different players over the past couple of years doing this.

How about you, ever throw down some coin on a match?

Me? - Sure! - But only small amounts (like 2-£3 etc etc)

Not really had any big wins, as you well know picking the winner is very difficult!

But it does make watching the tournaments even more exciting.

I usually go by whose on good form, for the majors, you can win big money in the majors, Tiger is still on stingy odds, like 5-1, even though he hasn't won a major for 2 years.
I had phil for the masters to win, Ernie Els to win for the British and phil mickelson for the us open to win.
I never even cosidered Goosen for the US Open!

He'll win another major soon. I'm definitely thinking about Els, Mickelson and I think Singh will come good for the PGA. Never rule out Tiger.
