10° Driver; 220 (Deep-Faced for decent distance)
5-Wood; 200 (Not hitting it too well right now...thinking of getting 18° rescue club)
7-Wood; 180 (Not hitting it too well right now...thinking of getting 21° rescue club)
9-Wood; 165 (Lotsa' Loft!)
4-Iron; 180 (I can rarely hit it )
5-Iron; 170 (Very good off the tee)
6-Iron: 160 (My favorite club!)
7-Iron: 150 (I'm dangerous with this one off the tee)
8-Iron: 140 (I'll occasionally hit this one fat)
9-Iron: 130 (See Above)
PW: 120 (I can hit high, land it soft, and spin it back)
SW: 100 (See Above)
LW: ???? (I only use this one for flop shots so...I couldn't tell you how far I would hit this with a full swing)
I have disappointed the golf gods many, many times, but most notably, once, on my 150 yard par-3 over water, I hit my shot a bit thin and naturally, it hit the rock wall just short of the green and it was gone. Or WAS it!? As soon as my ball hit the water, it bounced off a submerged rock and flew within 5 feet of the cup. However, I think the golf gods had their revenge when I managed to miss the 5-foot putt for my birdie.

Handicap: 6.1
Best Score:69
Worst:90 (worst this year)
Home Course: Kindersley Golf Club (But play around alot)
Putts per round: 31.3 average
GIR: Usually 12 of 18 on average
Fairways: 50%
Up and Down %: 53%
Birdies Per 18: 2-3 on average (I am the kind of person that makes alot of pars, not very many bogeys, and not very many birdies)
Promlems: Latley i have had a power fade that i am getting really mad at, used to drawing the ball and with my driver and 3 wood latley i have had fades, but draw my irons. Other problem, not making enough putts in the 4-15 feet range.
Driver: 250
3 wood:230
5 wood:220 (I love my 5 wood, i can hit it farther than my 3 wood if needed, but i need a lower hitting club in the bag)
3 iron:210
4:205
5:195-200
6.180
7: 170
8:155
9:145
PW:130
Gap Wedge: 115-120
Sand: 105
Lob: Not really sure, don't like hitting it full, use it mostly for lob shots around the green or shots i need to land very soft
I have some weird yardages
Birdie Count? Not realy sure, but i have done almost 60 18 hole rounds this year and usually got 1 atleast for most of them, so probablu pushing 100.
Eagles:2 (1 chip in and one putt in)
Sand saves: The last 5 rounds i have been 100% (not a great sand player, but i have been sinking the putts)
Anything else just ask me.
I used to keep stats on fairways hit, GIR, ups and downs, sand saves and putts but I quit after it became too demoralizing. It's bad enough when you have to write down a double or even a, gasp, triple bogey but then you have to write down yet another missed fairway, missed green and another 3 putt. Anyway, here are some stats for me:
Best Round: 74
Worst Round: 128
As for my club distances, I don't have any idea what they are right now. I've been losing distance over the past few months and with my thumb injury a couple of weeks ago, I haven't been swinging very hard. This past weekend, I hit 4 iron onto a 150 yard par 3 that is usually a 7 iron for me. I did notice that my irons were amazingly much more accurate when dialing it down but taking more club. After I'm fully healed, I might take that approach.
I agree with victory that stats only discourage me in the long run, particuarily since I haven't got better as the years go by. Also it surprises me when I read the distances people say they hit the ball. Not saying that anyone here is not reflecting their actual distances, but I've played golf with many different people of all skill levels for over 30 years, and with few exceptions, people don't hit the ball as far as they think.
I've been involved with building two golf courses from scratch and measuring them, which includes using Bushnell distance thing, the use of strings in measuring the actual distances of holes, and GPS. I also have used a simple measuring wheel to lay out the targets you hit to on the driving range. On a couple of ocassions, golfers have questioned the yardages at my course. For example, they'll say they know that they hit their 8 iron 160 yds and always come up short from that distance when they play here. I've had the opportunity to take a few of them out with a measuring device and show the that the markings are in fact correct. For myself, using targets that I have measured myself a couple of different ways, I can say with confidence that I hit the driver about 240 on the fly when I hit it flush. I don't count the roll after, just the carry. My average is in the 230 range, again not counting roll. However, in my 30 plus years of playing, I would say I am longer on average than about 60-65% of the people I have played, but when I hear what the people say either in person or on message boards, I am almost always shorter than that person says they are.
One last thot... course ratings are based upon what a scratch golfer would shoot on a given course and are made by your state or regional golf association (knda like the USGA, only on a local level). The distance used to determine what a scratch golfer hits the tee shot on average by these associations is between 250-260 yds. After talking with the people involved in course ratings and slopes, is that if you can't hit it that far, you've got over a 90% chance that you'll never be a scratch golfer. Of course if you can hit it that far, it just means you have a better chance to be scratch, but of course, does not mean you will have a 0 handicap.
The point of this is - Stats, in particular stats on how far you hit each club, are completely meaningless unless you take a true and honest average, not what you are capable of on your best shot, and only includes carry, not roll. If you do this, these stats will help your game, because you will base your club selection based upon your true average, not your career best, shot. This falls in the line of thinking that victory is noticing that he's more accurate swinging within himself and more accuracy on the approach means better scores. It'll be interesting if this thread goes several pages, how many people will say they hit 300 yd drives and 250 yd 3 woods. Not saying those people haven't hit the ball that far at some point, but I would be shocked if that's anywhere near the average. If your using inflated stats as a tool, you'll never improve much.
Man, this is an incredible thread! I never knew how much I don't know about my own game, and how much other guys know about theirs.
I wouldn't want to embarass myself by posting my meager distances, pathetic fairways hit stats, etc. Geez, on a bad day I hit all my irons about 100 yards!

Your're not alone...I know that 100 yd worm burning 3 iron all too well! Which is then followed by the 150 yd pitching wedge that goes over the green and into a hazard. It's a great game

Great post greenguy! We all know guys that claim 300 yard drives and 150 yard Pitching Wedges. 99% of those claims are based on a "career best" distance, not their average. The only thing "inflated" stats inflate is an ego. When I stopped focusing on how far I could hit each club and concentrated on finding the distance I "usually" hit a particular club, my game improved dramatically. Like Grandpa said..."It's not how far...it's how often!"
Handicap Index: Don't have one - would be over 30

How's that for brutal honesty? There was a time (a few years ago - before I took a hiatus from the sport) when my playing distances were at least 10 yards longer per club (and I don't know why). But, at the same time my average score has improved - a trade-off I'm willing to live with.
