Mulleagle?

So, I was on my way to finishing up a great 9 holes at the muni today. Hit my driver on a 262yd par 4 and saw it head right toward the green. Since no one was behind me, I teed up one more for some practice and tried to fly it over the trees instead of fading it around them. A mighty whack later, I was in the cart and saw my first ball on the green and my second on the fringe. For giggles, I grabbed the 7i for a little pitch and I holed it with a witness (there was a guy on the practice green). Then I two putted the first ball. Hence the new term, mulleagle. I counted my first ball on the card (which still put me 1 under for the round), but sure told everybody and their mother about my first chip-in. Just had to share.

I would have to say that it would be an "eagle" and not a "mulleagle" due to the fact that you holed out with the first ball. Can I get a ruling here?

Just curious but are you absolutely sure your 2nd ball was the one on the fringe? It COULD have been the one on the green. So you may have actually made eagle there. Just messing with your head a bit there. :D

Opps hkmiz, he two putted the first ball which was on the green. He chipped the second ball in from the fringe, that was the mulleagle. But the real ruling would be this; if he did not declare the second ball a provisional, then the first ball is assumed lost and out of play. That would be stroke and distance so the second ball was really laying 3 on the fringe. So the chip in would really have been a par.

I'm sure... My first shot was a new ball and my second had a scuff on it. Well done on the ruling, Forged. I hadn't thought about it like that. However, I'm not too worried about the actual score. Par for the round or -1, it was still better than a good day at work. I think that the outfit was the real reason, anyway. Black Mock-t, linen khakis, tan Kangol facing forward, and Etonic saddle oxfords. How could I not shoot well while looking so dapper (or silly, as my wife called it)?
