Ride, carry or push?

This topic was touched upon in a thread on "Push carts, cool or not?", but I'd like to address it further.

I started carrying a couple of years ago, after push/pulling a pull-cart for years. I enjoy the freedom and the exercise.

Last Sunday, I woke up with a stiff neck, so decided to use a pull-cart. I swear that by the end of the round (it was a hilly course) I felt the same amount of fatigue as when I carry. Does anyone else have this experience?

Ideally, I'd like to use a caddy one day, but I've never found a course that employs them. Bummer. In a few years, I'd like to get one of those remote controlled "trolleys" (or whatever they're called). Anyone have one of those?

David

I'd love a caddy, but for now, I'm carrying my bag.

Nope, never used a remote-controlled trolley (I don't know what they're called either)

Hi all,

For me it's a push cart every time, it's tough enough to get round the course without the "wind resistence" that a set of clubs strapped to your back offers

Cheers,
Jim

I usually use a "power cart," but only because it's free. When I play other courses, I walk if by myself and occasionally ride if I have someone accompanying me. It's all financial for this poor college student!!

I use a golf car because we are required to. I would much rather ditch my staff bag and carry a nice lightweight Ping or Sun Mountain instead...after all, golf IS SUPPOSED to be played for the exercise.

I HATE and resent that. Only when I HAVE to (charity tournaments, entertaining clients, etc.)

A few years ago I started carrying my clubs after years of using a pull cart, because my shoulders were getting sore from pulling the cart. Besides, my towels kept dragging on the ground and getting wet and dirty. Just this year I picked up a Sun Mountain 3.5 and carrying is heaven!

I have to admit that those motorized remote bag carts are very nice to use. I'm just too cheap to buy one.

I've seen people using those motorized bag carts, too. It's only a matter of time before those things will come with GPS systems strapped on so they can give you yardages, huh? Anyway, I voted that I carry my bag because I play 9 holes more than 18 holes but when I play 18, it's usually at a place where it's required to ride or it's included in the greens fees.
