Golf membership question

Hello I just recently joined a club, they were having a great deal that I just couldn't pass up. I shoot in the low 100's-high 90's but I replaced my 3-5 irons with hybrids and had a couple lessons. I'm hoping that I can shed a few more strokes and shoot in the mid 90's this season. My question is, should I be nervous that the other members will think I'm a "slow" golfer for shooting high scores or am I just being paranoid and most likely other members have high handicaps as well? What are some of your thoughts and are there high handicappers at your club? Thanks

Re: Golf membership question

Your scores place you right in the middle of golfers' skill levels. The members at most clubs are middle and high handicappers. Slow players are the ones who take way too much time mulling over their shots and slow down their group. If you play 18 in 4 1/2 hours in a group of three or four, your pace of play is fine.

Re: Golf membership question

Slow has nothing to do with how you score. The fact that you are worried about it tells me that you aren't a slow player. Sounds like you score in the average of most clubs - besides, no one cares what you score, all they remember is if they had a good time playing with you. Have fun!
