Ok all i was just added to my company end of the year tournament. I already know i dont have a chance to win because our company gives out a handicap based upon 2 events and thgis will be my first but my fellow employess needed a 4th to fill the roster so they asked me. My score doesn't effect theres in anyway so i am ok to just go out and have a good time. It is a shotgun style tourney so i am excited about that. I think i am most excited about cometition again, i miss any type of competition so this is great for me. My wife will also be out of town that whole weekend so i am gonna golf every day!!!
The only thing i am not excited about is the course, it is a links style course and i have never played that before so any advice is greatly appreciated..........
If it is a true links style curse and the greens are fast, with tight lies inside of 50 yds. Learn the bump and run shot with a 7 or 8 iron, instead of trying to chip with a PW/SW or LW.
Neat! Report back on the tourney, those are always interesting. The last one I attended, I witnessed quite a lot of interesting behavior:
* My director kicking balls from behind grass clumps, for better lies
* People moving the "long drive" stick, then writing their name on it
* My boss asked a waitress to "get on the table and dance for us"
* and various other shenanigans - what a crew!

ok good advice otherwise i am gonna be rolling right off of the greens everytime.........
ok bump and run shots, ok time to go practice them!!!
Jay. By any chance you playing at Wyncote? It's a great course, but very very challenging. If you happen to be playing there, I have one bit of advice: WATCH OUT FOR THE FESCUE!!!
