Year end tourney

My golf league is having their year end tourney this weekend and it looks like I might have a decent chance at finishing in the money. We get broken into two groups over the season, Group (A) the sub 18 handicaps and the rest of us. Looks like there are only going to be about 4 guys in my group I have to compete against. Five players, four payout spots. We are playing on a really nice course that I have played before and enjoyed. It has been a hotter than usual stretch here in the Seattle area and we are expecting a little rain on Saturday, so I am digging that too. Besides overall score, there will be 4 closest to the pin comps for each division, 2 long drive comps per division and a payout for low putts and high putts(boobie prize I imagine). Nice thing is they have invited guest to play along, they won't be competing in the tourney, but it is always nice to have a big group out there. I roped in three of my best friends to play and it looks like it will be a good time.

Good luck in the competition. It sounds like you can hardly lose! Of course, that's just what I would find a way to do.

I hope I haven't irked the Gods too much. I have been playing under handicap as of late, and have been having a good time doing it. I will be playing with buddies, so no matter what happens, it's all good. Thanks for the well wishes.

Well I had a pretty good tourney, I won the whole shooting match, including the $200 first place payout. I played 8 strokes better than my handicap. My chipping was dead on, holed one out from about 25 yards away . I didn't hit a single par 3 in regulation, but parred three of the four of them and bogeyed the other. It started pouring rain on us about the 14th hole, but we have needed rain out here for about a month, so it was very refreshing. Maybe if I wasn't playing well I wouldn't have liked the rain, but today it was okay. Well I have to go ice my shoulder, it is hard on a body patting yourself on the back.
