I have never read a golf magazine, only some of the on-line articles sponsored by Golf Magazine.

Golf Magazine and Golf Digest are very good. Today's Golfer is a UK pub that my local Barnes and Noble carries. I enjoy that magazine very much as well....

I like Golf Magazine and Golf Digest but I let my subscriptions to them lapse because I couldn't keep up with them and all the other reading I try to do. Now I buy these magazines when they give a "preview" of an upcoming major. (If I need instructional tips, I go to books I have.) I do subscribe to GolfWorld for tournament recaps and its other features.

GolfWorld and Golf Magazine. I just let my Golf Digest subscription lapse because I just wasn't reading it very much any more. Besides, page for page it probably has more advertising than any other magazine I ever saw, making it hard sometimes to follow the articles.

I have subscriptions to all of them except Golf Illustrated. I usually pick that up if I get through the other ones quickly. I usually try to keep away from the quick fix articles and love to see what new weaponry is out there.

What is everyones favorite section of the golf magazine??

They are ALL sent to the course...Golf World, Golf, Inc, Golf Business, Golf Week, Golf, Golf Digest, The Majors, Golf Course Management and a few others.

Best for Instruction Value...NONE of them. The instructional tips in these magazines help the "20-Handicap know-it-all-swing-expert" give tips to his friends that have nothing to do with their problems (no offense intended to 20-Handicappers). If you take Golf Digest and GOLF magazines only and really look at the tips, they will contradict each other and you will change your swing multiple times each issue. You have to remember that many of the instructional articles are written by very good instructors but from their perspective of what works. Just like all instructors don't "click" with all players, the same goes for individual (including me) instructor tips.

Best for Golf Business Information...Golf Inc and Golf Business are both very good.

Best for All-Around Facility Management - Golf Course Management

Best for Tour News - Golf Week

This is not meant to knock any of these magazines as they are all good when you realize what you are attempting to get out of it. I enjoy a lot of the articles in GOLF and Golf Digest but rarely employ the tips in them in my own teaching. If I were paying for the subscriptions, I would probably take Golf Week and either GOLF or Golf Digest depending on the flip of the coin.

I like the magazines for their articles about the players and courses that will hold the majors. Never cared for the 'tips' sections, but that's what probably sells the mag. I always thot it funny that it seems that every other cover on these mags is 'the' tip on how to cure a slice!

Jcgolfpro is right about Golf Week - I enjoy that and they have interesting stuff about what is happening on some of the lesser known tours. What I really enjoy is reading the online articles from michigangolf.com - they have other links to sites that carry info on courses throughout the U.S. as well.

Golf World & Golf Week are both weekly magazines that give you up to date info on the numerous tours plus behind the scenes happenings from the previous week. Golf Digest & Golf Magazine (monthlys) preview the Majors well but don't cover the other tournaments in-depth. I like my golf news to be "fresh" so I prefer the weekly publications. I still get them all though.......
