anyone play Royal New Kent outside of Williamsburg?

I am taking a vacation next week to Williamsburg (regular vacation not a golf trip ) I have just about decided to play Royal New Kent outside of Williamsburg I was just wondering if anyone had played it and could give me some thoughts on it. I see on other golf review sites that it does well just figured i would ask?

Lazarus,
I played RNK about 3 years ago. Bring a camera... its very dramatic. Very penal though. Make sure you play the proper set of tees, so you have an enjoyable day. I don't remember any specific holes, but I do remember lots of tricks, and blind shots. It has a lot of humps and bumps, and has the look of an Irish links.

I enjoyed Stonehouse more, I just felt it wasn't as penal, and not as visually intimidating. Other winners in the area include Kingsmill's three courses, the River and Woods are both excellent and challenging, the Plantation course fun and playable for all skill levels. The two courses at Golden Horseshoe are excellent as well, especially the Gold, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.

Hope this helps.
Frank
