18 holes yesterday - dreadful front side left me 4 over net, played back side even par net. Greens had been pured and were erratically covered with top soil - was like pitching onto a snooker table sometimes. I was scrambling all day so was pleased with one birdie and 4 pars. Can't remember ever hitting so many low punches from under branches!

I shot a 99 My worst round in awhile but thing is I hit the ball great (I had 5 pars and at one point made 6 consecutive greens). Unfortunately I had 6 blowup holes where I was 20 over (my pitching really let me down). The 12 remaining holes I was +9 (5 pars, 5 bogeys, 2 doubles).

I played Glen Abbey yesterday, brutal conditions 6 degrees celsius, maybe colder, the greens had alot of sand on them, I shot 6over on the front & parred no 10, I get to the 11th hole the one Vijay DBL Bogied 3 times during the Bell Canadian Open.
I laced my Tee shot about 285 yards in the fairway, leaving me just 140 over a raging 16 mile creek, I skulled my 9 Iron and splash into 16 mile creek.
a pitch shot on to the fringe and 3 putts later for a fancy triple 7, along with one other blowup hole on the back.

ended up shooting a nasty 86, but hit 8 fairways made 9 pars & a birdie.

It felt like a nasty british open with the cold & rain.

I am playing it again on the 6th of May, hopefully in better conditions, and with a better score.

Played 9 today after school and shot 39 (+4). I've been hitting the ball great lately and finally minimized my mistakes.

Played 18 at someplace that could barely be considered a course. More like a pasture, with a bunch of homes crammed around it. Anyway, I have never broken 40 for 9. Came out with a blazing 41. Things are looking good so far. But being up for over 24 hours when I initially teed off caught up to me on about the 13th hole. Struggled in with a pathetic 51 92 total. I did hit 3 of the first par 3's in regulation, which is about 3 more than I am used to.

I played this afternoon on a short, fairly easy course near here. The winds were howling though which made it play quite a bit longer than usual. I ended up shooting a 78 (40 on the back nine first-par 39 and 38 on the front-par 33), but I was saved by the flat stick...28 putts including quite a few in the 10-25 foot range. The problem was that when I finally got some reasonable looks at birdie on #7 and 8, from about 12 and 8 feet, I didn't even scare the cup. A very good round except for the $hank problem that cropped up again at two different points. 8 fairways, 9 GIR.

I shot 42 in the weekly men's association tournament at Valley View today. I was even par for 8 holes. I was trapped under a tree on #3. I didn't see how taking a drop would help. I didn't think I would have any problem punching the ball out, but I missed three times hehe. Did Tin Cup do that? Probably in a practice round...

I had one bogey, one birdie, and six pars. My greens in regulation was much, much better today. I hit 7 out of 9. I had a very long fairway sand shot on one hole...then there was the "other" hole.

Here is the round. It was a really nice afternoon, but I left the camera in the truck.

Also, I recently took a lesson and we did a quick chipping lesson. I learned the "proper" technique and switched from a 60 degree wedge to a 56 degree wedge for chipping. I think my up-and-down stats will improve greatly soon. I got some chipping practice in before the round and was liking the technique and using the 56 degree instead of the 60 degree.

I played for the first time in a whole week ... I had my old driver, 975D because I sent my 580xd in to get a new head. But it's okay, I was really hitting my old driver well. I hit it very far (I think my shortest dirve today was ~290) and I only missed 3 fairways all day.
I shot a 68 with a bogey and 3 birdies on each side... It's almost May! OG-><-YG

Way to go low there someinfidel... Those OG's won't even know what hit them ... I haven't been able to play for 1 1/2 weeks now. I'm starting to go crazy waiting until this weekend to play again....

You need to start mailing your scorecards to the nearest college coach. Or better yet, find your way to the mainland a few Monday qualifiers. You're either stretching the truth or wasting your time and talent.

HA... You sound like my dad, he's always on my case about this... I'll be trying out for UH again in August, probably... thing is I have very little tournament experience and the tournaments I have played in I haven't played that well, high 70s. I don't think coaches are all that interested in casual rounds... I talked to the UH coach a couple weeks ago he said I was more than welcome to try and walk on again... but I'm still thinking about transferring, might be too late for that I don't know

As for stretching the truth... well I'll play with victory here pretty soon, you can ask him if I'm any good

Dad's aren't as dumb as sons sometimes think they are.

As for the stretching the truth thing......You don't see guys your age averaging nearly 300 yards off the tee and shooting as many subpar rounds as you routinely do, not playing serious golf somewhere. Whether it's college or State amateur tournaments, guys with a lot less talent are doing a lot more.

That's not to say I don't believe you, but you must admit that the scores you post and the distance you hit the ball should afford you the opportunity to compete on a higher level than just casual rounds with your buddies. Most of us would find a way to sharpen the tools you have and take advantage of the talent.

Do us mods a favor will ya? When you're playing golf with him ask him when we're going to get some help around here. He'll know what you're talking about.
