I shot a 75 in the final round today... I had a triple bogey on the #1 hole but oh well, it's still early in the season, there are a lot more tournaments coming up soon enough. I finished +18... 83,76,75... probably somewhere in the top 20, not sure yet... nope, I finished 23rd
84 from the blacks at Willows Run Coyote Creek. Not the best score in our group, but I won the game we playe on the 18th hole. A par 5 that I started off with a great drive but had 195 to the pin and 180 to clear the lake in front of the green. Hit a 6 iron really thin (basically bladed it), but it had enough to just clear the water and bounce to the left front fringe about 45 feet from the pin. I putted from there and ran it by about 9 feet. Made the putt for what our group calls a "birdie, poley, skin" taking 5 beans on the last hole to win the match. If you understand what I just said, you've been golfing for a while.
43 for the front nine on Sunday, by myself in 75 minutes... Parred the first, sank a 45 ft snake from off the green on the 9th for a birdie, and some unspectacular stuff the rest of the way. That's two under my handicap.

I've never played the Willows Run complex, have you ever been over to Druids Glen?
I struck the ball well (for me) yesterday but could not find my putting stroke. The greens are the most difficult part of my home course but 36 putts is about 6 higher than I would like. The chip-in for birdie on 18 wasn't enough to overcome the 5 three putts in the round.
Sure have. It's a great course with good variety and it's plenty challanging.

I am playing it this weekend, going to use it for the OG/YG match. It is one of my favorites around. Pretty mean when it is wet, that bad boy seems to hold the water.
I played in a two man scramble at Jeremy Ranch in Park City Utah today. It was a privilege to play this private course. This is the first time I have played it. Talk about a tough course! It's rated at 72.9 from the back. We played the back tees on about half of the holes.
I'm not playing nearly as well as my handicap (up to 7.9 from 5.9 to start the season). I would have shot mid 90's if playing on my own. The driver is completely gone and the iron play isn't great, either.
We shot 7 over (79) with a 14 handicap. The two we played with shot 1 over with a 15 handicap (net 58). They should be in the money, but certainly not us. We didn't have a birdie all day and bogeyed every par 3.
It's a beautiful and challenging course. I'll check out the pictures now and upload one or two if they turned out well. I got a couple of pics of a moose before we started.
shot 39 on the front 9 where i work today, no practice swings before hitting the tee. was throwing darts with the short irons today. made two mistakes on 8 and 9. caused me to make double and bogey to finish off. im getting closer.
91. my personal best. 43 out(also a best) 48 in. made a run of five straight 6's on the back. made some poor wedge decisions & started missing gir's.
i hit the perfect 2i for a layup on a dogleg left par5, unfortunately it hit a cart path & cleared the next fairway. and i still saved par. i'm getting there.
Wow, ForeOnTheRoad.... amazing shots. I will never look around NY/NJ and think i'm in Utah, that's for sure... thanks for reminding me it's time for a vacation!
