On one of the ones I've played in you had to use a cricket bat on one of the holes(that was for longest drive) , a hockey stick and a sledge hammer to putt with.

We had a short par 3 where they had a left handed club that you had to hit with. I suppose if you were already a lefty, they made you hit with one of your partners clubs. BTW-I swung and missed

I shot some pigeons the other day at my father-in-laws that were pooping all over his cars and stuff. He wanted me too, because evidently they do things worse than poop...Can I say "poop" mods?

I've never played in one, but I've been behind a few....it makes for a long day. That's a good attitude to have about any of these handicapped events, Keith. I've heard of too many double-digits shooting par in these things to plunk down too much $$ to get invloved.

The better 1/2 and I went out for a quick 9 last night. We've had alot of rain lately and there was alot of bird all over the greens, probably due to the worms that were out earlier, hence a feeding frenzy.(looooong skinny hot dogs maybe to some, lol.)

Then the geese started flying like mad(the nastier the weather, the more they like it) and dropping bombs all over the place and landed one on the wife's new bag. She was not pleased, as I chuckled beneath my breath. lol.

Anyway, parred 1st 3holes, ob then next, but managed a bogie, and then things just fell apart. Driver went everywhere and ended up with 40.

I shot a 76 today. On the front I had 4 bogies and 1 birdie. On the back I was even -1 and then I had a string of bogies on 16, 17, and 18.....bogey, double, bogey. That ****** me off. I would of had a +3 73 if it weren't for stupid little mistakes. It was my best round at the course so far, beating my old best score by one shot. I was playing with a girl on the UF golf team so I guess that helped me step up my game. She was hot so I was trying to impress her. lol Go Gators!

Was playing particularly badly yesterday on some of the holes, was trying out a new putter which I was impressed with in the shop, but didn't seem to have the feel of my old SPIDA. Did some awful tee shots, although my new driving iron did help on the holes around the 160 -190 mark, when I remembered to dig it out Still somehow managed to scrape a round of 106, only one over my best so far on that course.

I think its my mid game & bunker shots which seem to have saved me from feeling really humilliated. It seemed to have been a round plagued by trees. Managed to break my pitching wedge on a tree, though when I saw where the ball ended up It did serve to sooth the pain of knowing I needed to spend out 20 quid on a reshaft

The old duffers who were holding me up invited me through so I took out my trusty old Mizzuno 5 wood I'd been given by my father, which must be 10-20 years old & which I'm normally safe using & imidietly sent the ball tenns of yards straight up in the air somehow; come to land, you guessed it, right by a tree.

Hit my next shot out of the rough, was a lovely hit & would have gone straight down the fairway, had it not been for....

.... A tree

Eventually found the ball on oposite side of rairway & then took my next shot & went straight down to land ten foor infront of the green.

On the 18th O plonked my tee shot straight in the drink. Took my next shot from the drop zone straight through a set of trees obscuring the green with my 64" LW , landing 20 foot from the flag & proceded to one putt the final hole, those two shots silenced the laughter from the patio of the clubhouse.

43/48 - 91 @69.8/123 course. In the rain for part of the way. It was the best ball-striking day I've had in a long time. My short game was terrible, though. I wasn't keeping my own card, but I must have had 40 putts and enough bladed & chunked touch shots to last for the rest of the season. Still I felt very good about it, overall. The lousy short game was an aberration I hope.

42/45. It's going to be a long weekend I think. The weather is starting to warm up and the humidity is climbing. Takes a little while to acclimate each year, especially if you walk. Big tournament weekend, three days starting tomorrow. Going to have to stop and think with every shot. This is when pars can blow up into doubles and triples if you're not real careful with a little luck thrown in for good measure. Have a good one all.

I had an 81 playing this evening at my home course. The score wasn't too bad, except it was a "coulda-been" round. I played the first 6 holes in 7 over par, although my biggest problem was hitting shots too solidly . I landed on the greens at 1, 3 and 4 only to have a hard bounce knock me over the back. I also hit a shot that spun back off the front of #6. I hit the green in reg on #2 and three putted. I wasn't feeling too sure about the round at this point.

Then I thought I'd hit a horrible pop-up drive on #7...or at least it felt and sounded like it. We looked all over for my ball...only to find it 290 yards away in the center of the fairway, leaving me with a nice smooth 9 iron into the green, which I hit to 8 feet, only to miss the putt (soon to become a recurring theme here ). On 8 I roped a draw around the corner and knocked my wedge to 8 feet, making that one for birdie. I made a great up and down for bogey after a poor tee shot and second on #9, then basically did the same thing on #s 10 and 11...great tee shot on the short (310 and 285) par 4s, chip to ~10 feet, miss the putt and take par. I then hit a 60º wedge to 5 feet on #12, missed it, then reached the 535 yard 13th for the first time in my life only to 3 putt, including a missed 4 footer for birdie, then hit another 60º into 14 to about 10 feet, and missed. I then chopped around 15 (sh*nked wedge after a perfect drive ) and made bogey, lipped out a 15 footer for par on 16, made a nice up and down from beside the green on 17, and nearly reached 18 for the first time in my life as well (510, but plays more like 530+ with the very uphill second shot). I hit a nice chip from just short of the green to about 10 feet...and, you guessed it, missed again.

The final tally was 10 fairways, 10 GIR, and 38 putts....the stroke just felt awful the whole time. I just had the feeling from about hole 8 on that I was gonna hit every shot the exact distance and pretty close to the direction I wanted to, and I very nearly did. I just couldn't get a putt to fall to save my life. A blind man coulda putted for me and I'd have been 2 under in those last 12 holes, but somehow I managed to do it in 2 over....oh well, I suppose there's always next time right?

Well I just spent nearly 7 hours at the golf course.... it was good.
I practiced my long game for 2 hours, my putting and chipping for 1 ½ and 18 holes.
I think the practice paid off... because I was back to hitting straight shots again and my chipping and putting was better than usual.
I had a 5 over 78... a few bad club selections but I was pretty happy.
Now if I can carry on playing like this tomorrow I should win both matches .... hopefully

Looks like you've taken my bad putting stlcard haha - not a bad round though

Played my first round this season on Tuesday and shot a 98 (par 67, it's a short course!). I'm happy about it because I only shot under a hundred (don't know if you count it for such a short course) a few times last season (my first season). I was getting used to my new irons and wedges as well, so my distances were a little off. I hit a few shots so clean that it made it all worth while. Getting GIRs are probably the best feeling for me right now. Still a little shaky of the tee, but pretty solid from 150 yards in. Putting is another story. Going again on Sunday! (I sleep earlier the night before just so it seems like the golf day comes quicker)

I shot a 78 today. Which I was pretty stoked about as the weather was awful. My course was the only one open in town. We had 2 inches of rain last night in 8 hours. The wind was howling as well. Started on the back and was +7 over after that nine which means I wasn't in the best mindset but played the front nine -1 which was awesome as the front nine is the harder of the two.

Weather was horrible, our hands were numb (I was playing with my friend) and we quit after two holes. She couldn't putt at all. And she was determined to play from the men's tees! I couldn't convince her to move up to the red's without offending her (i.e. "Even good female golfers play from the red's!" "Oh, so I'm not good? Is that it?!" even though she's not, and she knows it she plays once a year anyway so that's understandable though). Luckily it was only two holes so that wasn't too big of a deal. And the night ended up being sooo much fun anyway with all the other random stuff we did. Not gonna get into it, but we pretty much visited all of our other friends and drove around everywhere all night.
