Great pic Bulls. Isn't funny how great our kids swings look. My 13 year old has a wicked swing, and as long as I don't try and give him any instruction, it should stay that way.

Dead even par for handicap on Sunday. My whole game was just off the boil - never quite there in the execution. Sweet birdie on the 3rd though, drained the putt from 35 feet.

Exec course - bunch of 80-130 yard par 3's with a couple of Par 4's.

Hole 1 - green, 3 putt. bogey
2 - topped and rolled 134 yds short of green. bogey
3 - topped and rolled 5 ft. bogey
Par 4 4th - clean hit with a 4 iron finally. Straight off the course. Bogey.
5 - Skulled shot 100 yds over green. Bogey
6 - Whiffed ball 50 yds. (but nice height). Bogey
7 - ball fell off tee addressing ball. Bogey.
8 - hit the green. Unfortunately a "putt putt" green. 3 putt. Bogey
9 - flared one right, but tree assisted it back to the green. 2 putt, Par.

My group "quit" on me because up till then, they had been "pushing" the skins up until the 9th!! Guess who was the only one to par the 9th? yippee!!!!

I played on a "real" course today for the first time in two years. I was unable to play last year and a beginner before that. I've been practicing a lot to try and regain the few skills I had acquired (and lost). I've played the local Par 3 course a few times lately to break the monotony of practice. So today was a treat for me being back out on a real course.

I won't embarrass myself (or Forged) by posting my score, but I was pleased with many of my shots. I was even able to make par on one hole! I feel like I hit my driver and woods relatively well. My irons need a LOT of work. I chipped pretty well, but my putting is definitely in need of practice. I lost a lot of balls today in the water and was one reason my score was so high. (It was a good thing that Forged pulled a lot of balls out of one pond while we were waiting for a group to play, I needed them. )

Hopefully by the end of the summer, I will have some scores I won't be ashamed of posting. But right now, I guess I'm not as concerned with my score as I am with the ball striking.

One under tonight. Was hitting everything great and was going right at the pins. Could have shot lower if I wouldn't have been in a rush on the past few holes

Good job Pings. So long as you're pleased, no one else has the right to be displeased. Keep us updated on your progress.

Myself, I had an 84 today. My driving was pretty solid, I hit 9/15 fairways, but the iron game, and especially wedges, was atrocious. I've got a terrible case of the sh*nks and I can't shake it. I hit only 4 GIR despite the good driving, and took 34 putts. At one point I thought that I might give myself the nickname "Two Putt Bogey," because that was all I could do. I ended up with 34 putts, and nothing but 4s and 5s on the card. A rather odd round, all in all.

I picked up a few of the Nike One Platinums in the pro shop, just to try them out, and played them on the holes that I wouldn't have a chance to lose them. If you can generate a lot of clubhead speed, it seems to give you quite an extra kick of distance, at least off the tee (I wouldn't know off the irons, as I hit every iron shot today so terribly ). I hit my longest drives ever on #1 and 3 with it, and overall had three drives over 290 today (this coming from someone who generally averages around 250 off the tee). But when I just didn't seem to get into it right, the ball didn't fly much farther than a drive with a ProV1 or NXT or whatever other ball I might be playing. I figure this is a borderline ball for me considering my swing speed (which I honestly have no clue of anyway) so I'll play out the sleeve and unless I find them on the course, likely won't buy any more.

I played really well today, finally. 2 weeks ago I was playing well also but the past couple of weeks I've been grinding it out everyday working on the 3/4 shot. Today I think I finally have it, I've been taking more club on almost every approach and today it finally worked out well. My driving was just okay, I missed a lot of fairways and drove one into the water, but overall I'm really happy with the way I played.

I had a case of the "Davey Crockets" recently and my coach fixed me up very quickly. I had my right foot at about 45 degrees to the target line so on the way down I was kicking my right knee towards the ball. The club had to get around my right knee and I was getting one or two a round on the shank.

I straightened my foot up so it was square to the target line and have been nailing it ever since. Give it a try!

Good job Ping and BDR. I will live vicariously through others until I figure out why my putter seems to have a magnet in it recently. (other magnet seems to be in my back pocket)

Interesting round yesterday. 2 birds, one on #1, a 462-yard par 4 which included a 312 yard drive with only 1 bounce on the cartpath. 2 quads, 2 triples, 8 penalty strokes. But I got it around in 32 putts.... GG's spell must be wearing off.

Shot 44, 9 over in the weekly tournament at Bountiful Ridge today...

Something is seriously wrong! Is it me?! Naw. It must be the other players somehow causing me to swing very poorly...

Here it is:
