shot 93 at what could very well be my home course soon! The greens are quick and "slopey", and in some spots pretty roughly maintained (as well as a number of the tee boxes), but $25 to ride 18 is a pretty good deal for courses with actual fairways! *laugh*

Almost had a couple of chip ins, made two 35 or so footers, and unless the yardage markers are lying, I hit a 3 wood about 285 off the tee (on the fly, it found the wet stuff! ugh!), but still made birdie on a very short par 5. 32 putts for the round isn't too bad either, especially with a couple 3 jacks thrown in!

http://www.saddlebrookgolf.com is where I played here in Indy.

I went out with my school golf coach today and never really cared about score although i was a foot away from a hole in one haha. But he worked on my swing, apparently he used to help alot of people out with their swings and i never really knew that. He told me i was way to flat almost baseball like and i had to come over the top to get the club back on plane. I was getting my arms behind my back and he showed me to get them up high around my head and come at a steeper attack angle on the start. He told me to just slow it down and just practice my back swing in slow motion to groove it into my muscle memory. He told me my finish was good and just gradually work my way into full swings and he gave me a great drill to practice to help with swing plane.
Put your butt and back to a wall then take a step or somethingaround there and only take back swings and make sure the club doesn't touch the wall and get it memorized. I am gonna practice this stuff a bit but it seemed to work good that is for sure.

Sorry about the "He said" at the start of every sentence.

I shot 79 today, 41 on the front and 38 on the back. My ball striking was dead on today, but some bad breaks and horrible putting did me in. For example on the first hole, I hit a 280 yard tee shot down the left side of the fairway leaving me 65 yards to the pin. I landed the short pitch about 20 feet right and spun it left to 5 feet but missed the putt . Then on 3, I had 85 yards, landed the ball 5 feet behind the pin and spun it back right over the edge of the cup to 35 feet below the hole. I then proceed to 3 putt the green  . The story today was that I was spinning everything way too much. I was spinning 8 irons back 10 feet, and 5 irons back 3 feet. I ended up hitting only 4 fairways and 7 greens .

Obviously if you are sucking shots back like that you are striking the ball pretty well. Spinning it back 40 feet would ****, personally the most backspin i have put on a ball is 5-10 feet with a Ben Hogan Apex Tour into a 15 km/h head wind into a green sloping back to front, which are prime back spin conditions. Do you consistently put this much spin on the ball? I personally would hate it, with the exception of 2 feet back with a gap wedge or something like that.

Anyone every notice excessive distance gains with short irons? I do not know if it is because i was trying a little different swing plane today, but i hit a PW Pin high from 150 into a 20 km/h wind and honestly it wasnt struck dead solid perfect, i did swing hard and hit it decent though. The only reason i did it is because my friend bet me 1 buck to see who could hit the green with their PW. And last night i hit a 9 iron from 155 into a green hoping to leave it below the hole because the green is severly sloped around the hole and a downhill putt ****. I proceed to hit the ball over the green somehow. The weird thing is at the beginning of this year i was hitting a smooth 7 iron 150-155 and a hard 8 iron 150-155 now i am hitting 9 iron that far or even more!!?? My friend hits his PW 150 and he has some problems from 135-110 yards out, i don't want that. Anyone know what it could be?

Junior, I always put quite a lot of spin on the ball, but today the course was a little soggy, so everything was exagerated to the extreme. My normal spin for my 56° SW is 10-15 feet, but 40 feet is totally rediculous I know. It can get annoying having to gauge how much the ball will spin in order to get it close, but it sure makes people oooh and aaah .

Today I shot 82 after being 7 over after 7. I pared the 4th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 14th, 15th, 18th. Birdied the 17th. So for the day I finished 10 over par. 44 on the front 38 on the back. I figured out my swing by the 8th hole and was able to get my game together.

10 over. With a 9 on a par4. AWESOME! I hit two solid shots the whole round. Nothing beats 6:54am tee times with no warm up!

I played a little practice round just trying somethings trying to get a little swing change grooved into my swing so i can consistently do it, i figure i shot around 40-42 had i been keeping score. I stiffed 3 shots today and one was on a par 3!! If you read my post from yesterday i said i almost got a hole in one, today i was even closer on the same hole, i was about a foot or so yesterday and today i was less than a putter grip length!! Sad thing is 2 of the 3 kick in birds were in my little practice round type thing. I went out to play a real round and ended up shooting par, 36. So to say the least i think my "new swing" works and hopefully can get it fully into my muscle memory cause i had a few get away on me today so hopefully can get the consistentcy part down pat.

I was an 82 today inspite of 4 doubles, 3 three-putts and 5 duffed chips..... have been at the range working on the driver and it has shockingly inproved my irons more than the driver, so my mid and short irons were really solid :)

We had to coin a word for what I shot on a short par 4 today. I shot a "Mr. Hankey".
Really, I was only 8 over on 9 holes. I was killing it with ye olde driver, but my short irons were poo.
