91 (89 for posting purposes, due to two 8's that had to be reduced to 7's, in accordance with ESC, the USGA's "Equitable Stroke Control" practice). I didn't break 90 (my goal whenever I tee it up), but I'm happy for a number of reasons:

---I hadn't played this course since they toughened it up to a slope of 130. I expected to do a lot worse.
---My buddy Larry and I were paired with two really nice guys, and we finished in a little over 4 hrs.
---My "two-bit nassau" with Larry was all even on the final green, when he rolled in a 25-footer to beat me. Great match. He earned the 50 cents.
---In defiance of a recent birthday (not tellin' how old; let's just say that I now qualify for some things), I walked and carried (usually I walk and have the clubs on a pull-cart). Haven't done that for a few years, and boy was it fun. To keep the bag's weight down, I took only 10 clubs, which sometimes left me without the club I would have preferred to hit. But on the hole I birdied, I choked down on a 7-I (left the 8-I at home) and hit it to 15'. For the scores I shoot, I probably don't need all 14 clubs.

Yeah, those clubs you leave in the trunk don't help you much! I understand trying to lighten your load, but any job is hard without the proper tools! Find a Sunday bag and carry'em all!

I shot an 84 today with a pretty strong wind. I double bogeyed 4 holes which made me sad but I went un a strong string of seven straight pars over the longest and toughest part of the course.

i also shot 84 today and there was a really strong wind. I got 2 triples one double, 5 bogeys, and 10 pars. I was quite impressed with my game except the start of the back 9.

I shot a 38(+2) on a 3000 yard "confidence builder" playing with my mom and 13 year old son yesterday. 2 birdies and a triple. Just missed an eagle putt on a 467 yd par 5. It was on the "tough" side of a 114/67, par 70, but I'll take +2 anytime... my best in years. The best part about it was, I got under one drive, hit it about 200 and we walked to our balls... the look on my son's face when he was 10 yards past me. Now if I can just get him to the putting green so he can eliminate some of those 5 putts.

That's the trouble with kids today ......they all want to smash it and they forget that a 2 footer counts the same as that big drive. Sounds like you had a great time. Don't worry, he'll come around!

The 2 footer counts more than the HUGE drive i have found out. I have hit a huge drive and then made a bogey because of not getting the ball close to the hole and then 3 putting, but i have made pars when i have duffed a drive and even made some birdies.
But don't forget it isn't only kids that want to smash the ball a long ways, i think everyone that golfs want to smash the ball!!

Yesterday, I had the same as the day before. Decent front (46), mediocre back (50), and an ok score (96).

Deja Vu.

Today, I played horrible. I got a 52 on the front (a par 34 ), but finished out with a so-so 49 on the back for a 101.

Oh...and I also played a skins match today. I actually won (by three holes). I guess even though I played horribly, I won the right holes.

Haha, I got the exact same score to you, in terms of the score-par ratio. I got a 53 on the back 9 yesterday (Saturday), and par was 35. But... I got a 64 on the front.

I never get 5 putts, max is 3, and that's very rare for me... my putting has been incredible... relative to the rest of my long game. My short game is decent, I've pitched a few in from about a 30 foot radius in recent weeks.

Hi all,

I had two rounds today (straight after work) and shot an 87 and an 89, very happy about keeping under 90 for the second round especially.

Cheers,
Jim

51 on 9 holes. Not to bad. But i would like to do better. On the first few holes i kept ripping them to the right. But then I got the swing back undercontrol.

I had a 94 on Sunday and then a 105 today, but on a much harder course. I just couldn't get the driver working and the greens were mad fast. Just need to keep practicing.

I shot a 76 today which i wasn't to happy with because of the way i was playing. I was striking the ball awesome. I got a double after i hit a 7 iron from 152 on a par 3 into a howling wind, it was going right at the pin and it went 20 yards over the green and left myself a nasty downhill downwind shot with not much green to work with and a pretty bad lie and put it about 25 feet away and then proceeded to crush my putt past the hole and ended up making double. The 3 other bogey's were stupid mistakes on my part, but recovered well; but couldn't sink the par putt. I made only 1 birdie. But i felt i was striking the ball awesome!

Shot a 42 on 9 holes today. I was trying to play 18, but this was not the day for it since every hack in the known universe was struggling to keep it under 150. 5 fairways, 4 greens, and 16 putts made it all worthwhile.

I would think an "experienced" guy like you would know better than to try to fight the Holiday hackers. Believe me...they weren't all on your course, even if it may have seemed like it! 42 isn't bad when it's hit and wait all day.
