Not one of my best rounds but I was rather happy with a 87 considering that I played from the back tees and had several lousy second shots. I usually play the white, but decided today why not play the back for a change.
on thursday I shot a 79 and wednesday I shot a 76, first time I have had back to back rounds in the 70's. My swing change is coming along nicely. After I shot the 79 I played two more rounds, it is an all you can play course. On the last 18 I had 3 birdies in a row on holes 15-17, first time ever. I am excited because I had a REALLY FLAT backswing just two weeks ago and Now i am upright. Two weeks into the change and I am already striking the ball better then ever. Good instructors do wonders
I shot an 80 last Friday, playing the course for the first time(70.7/130). I was only 4 over after 15 holes, shooting for my first mid-70's round. I then proceeded to double 16 and triple 17 to finish 9 over. Oh well. Last night I played the all you can golf after 6:30 twilight special. We got 15 holes in in 1:40. As expected when playing that fast, it was a strange round. 1 eagle(my first), 2 birdies and no pars for 12 over.
I shot 81-81 over the weekend. First round was a smooth round, 2nd round was kind of volatile, with a couple double-bogeys, but also a few birdies. I'm finally shooting better, hoping to break 80 someday soon!
Shot a 52 on 9 today. that is pretty good for me. I GOT MY FIRST BIRDIE!!!!! par 3- 170 yards, i drove the green then made a tricky 15 footer that broke hard right. after the bird i had a couple of ****** holes which stopped me from breaking 50 for the 1st time, but that put made my round worthwhile.
I shot a 73 that could have been alot better. I hit the ball the best i have in a while and was bombing my drives. I just couldn't putt, they just top dressed the green with sand and they were torn so it wasn't great to putt on, but honestly i was just not putting well, i couldn't get the line right. I didn't sink any putts over 10 feet. If i putted as well as i swung i would have been looking at sub 70 garunteed, i had 2 3 putts and those were my bogies and i had many birdie chances under 10 feet and only converted one.
Had 40 over 9 holes..... hit my driver straight for a change albeit not too long. Irons were a bit ropey but seeing the drives were on the fairway, this was of a little less consequence than usual!
I played awesome again today, awesome ball striking. 8 green is regulation and 18 putts, 2 putted every hole. And they were all pretty much makable putts. Like i had 3 lip outs and a few right in the heart but left them 5 inches short. I am not putting bad, i am not three putting. I am not being way far away or anything. The putts just won't fall, the past 4 9 hole rounds have been like this, awesome ball striking and then can't make the putts. The longest putt i made was 4 feet and that was after a very bad stroke where i almost missed the ball completley. I just could not buy a putt!! Then all of a sudden i will not hit the ball very well and all of a sudden i will be sinking putts left and right, golf is like that.
My friend is shooting the same thing as me and he is literally hacking it around the course, but then gets up and down and then when he does hit a decent shot in he makes the birdie putt, it really makes you mad watching someone make the putts and then you come so close. It pays to have a short game i guess.
geesh, what an up and down day yesterday. 1st-9, shot a 47 with a 10 on a par-4, ob,then lost ball, and then a 3-putt. 2nd-9, shot a 38, normal round. 3rd-9, shot a 35, eagled 1-par5 and birdied the other with 2-bogey's and the rest pars.
what a humbling game, but it just keeps ya coming back for more, lol.
