I shot a good round of 74 today. Shot a 37 on the front 9 and was 3 over going into 18 just hoping to par and chipped in for eagle!! I was bymyself but all of the people on the balcony/deck right behind my courses last hole were clapping haha.
Today my 8-PW were not very solid at all, it is pretty bad when you are stick 5 and 6 irons closer to the hole than you are your short irons. My putter saved me and so did my little cvhip shots around the green, i got up and down 8 out of 10 ten times, but that is kind misleading too, cause 4 of them were from the fringe. If we are talking actual chip shots it was 4 out of 6 wich is a pretty decent stat. I never made a birdie all day, just the eagle on 18 and kept my bogeys on the low side. That is the kind of player i am though, i make alot of pars, a few birdies and a few bogeys.
My friend the other day went bogey, birdie, bogey, birdie, bogey, but then it fell apart with mainly bogeys. My friends will shoot 6 over in 18 with 3 or 4 birdies, where as if i make 4 birdies in 14 i am bound to go low. I guess it is my conservative play.
Handicap went down point 1, but i have my work cut out for me, cause i got on a hot streak not to long ago and now thoughs rounds are about the leave my last 20 scores....Should be fun to see what happens.

went out and shot an 84 had two doubles and and missed a couple par putts that were 3 footers, my iron play was really off today so i was happy that i could scramble and go pretty low for my standards. my putter and driver definitely helped out, junior i had a similar experience on my last except i made about a 40 footer for birdie great way to end the round.

Cause i entered my score into the handicap thing. Our handicap thing fropm what i understand is different from your over in Britain, ireland etc you guys can only enter scores into your handicap for tournament rounds and stuff like that correct? Here it is not like that, if you go out and as long as you play by the rules you can enter your score. I think it is like that anyways, everyone at my club does it like that. But there is a special thing when entering your score that asks if it was in a tourne, mnt or not.

oh thanks junior for clearing that up!

over here we can only get cut in competition and tournament rounds. we cant just go out for a pleasure round, play by the rules and enter our score, it stinks, because we only have a chance of getting cut at our club once a week, on a saturday!

however, in the summer there is a few opens played at other courses nearby during the week, and we can get our handicap cut in these.

Yeah, that would kind of stink. If they had like a little competition sort of thing 3 times a week at your course it would be alright, but only on a Saturday and in tournaments that would make me mad. All i have is just a little thing i have to click to say whether i shot it in a tournament or just a normal round.

many other clubs in the region allow their members to get cut as many as 5 times a week, but at ours its one. kinda stinks indeed.

91, not bad but I was really upset because with my excellent shots, I felt like I deserved a lot less. Oh well.

I was away for two days at Linwood CC.

First day I got a 99 (not good for such an easy course [68.7/124]).

Second day I got a 93...pretty good. There was only one eensy teensy problem. I got a 42 on the front and a 51 on the back. Oh well...this is only the 3rd time I've squandered my opportunity to break 90...

Shot a 73 today, 38-35. The Weird thing, i shot a good score, but i really didn't play "good". I hit 11 of 18 greens. Stuffed a 7 iron from 165 to 3 feet, miss the birdie putt (bit of a tester, left to right slider) Then Stuff a 52* wedge to 3 feet, hangs on you right edge of the lip, thought it broke, but it was straight in. I had 2 birdies, but could easily have been 4 or more birdies. I only had 27 putts, which is good, but i putted bad. The thing that saved me, ups and down. I was just awesome with the wedge, bump and run, lob you name it, 3 feet or less every time and one chip in.
I also had a water stroke, but chipped in my par. It was just one of those days, didn't play really, really good (just pretty good), but my score looks I did. I had probably 6 or 7 putts from 12 feet or less and only made 1 of them. My other bird came from about 15 feet. I can only imagine how could i could have shot if i could putt. I was playing with a good golfer too, he shot even par 72. Solid golfer, very good putter, good guy too.

Hi all,

A 93 on saturday, 94 sunday, and 89 today. Quite happy with that considering the disaster that was last week.

Cheers,
Jim

You got to play 3 days in a row! I honestly can't remember the last time I was able to do that. :( Three times in one week is a great week for me. I'd play everyday if I could, but that's not likely. The wife encourages and supports my playing but I get "the look: if the sticks come out too often!

Judging by your scores....you're doing something right! Keep up the good work.

Hi league,

It's better than that, I work nights so I usually play (weather permitting) at least five games a week. However I do really hate practice, heck I don't even have a couple of practice putts before a round, which doesn't help game improvement much. In two years (give or take) I've posted over 520 games on the handicap site.

Cheers,
Jim
