I saw that Absolut! Nice round. I just hope it's not in the weekly GR league hehe.

Started the day off on the range & a load of my range shots were heavy, oddly I came off for a good start & hit the first green in one, lovely 7 iron tee shot, though only came away with parr.

Mucked the whole round up with my 2nd hole where I made a very weak shot with my hybrid off the tee, walking off that hole with 4 onto the green & 2 putts, for a 6. in total I had 24 shots tee to green & 20 putts to give a final round of 44 for the 9 holes (parr 30)

I can stamp my card today with
"Can do better" in big bold red letters.

Infact my putting was atrocious, my drive shots were not much better & I want shooting for thinning dead easy lob shots that I'd ace any day of the week normally. Meaning I then had to take another shot to get to where I wanted to be the first time.

I drove like a spaz, lobbed like a spaz & putted like a spaz

Played 9 holes this evening on my Tod, shot a 33 (-2). Looking forward to saturdays 4 ball better ball.

P.S At the risk of being a threadjacker, why is it called 4 ball better ball when you play in teams of two?? I've always wondered, surely it shoud be 2 ball better ball???

I took a friend to my club yesterday and on the way back we passed the 9 Hole Municipal Course where I was a member for 25 years. We decided to stop off and play.
I have not played there since I started to play with "Metal Woods" and carrying Lob Wedges so it was interesting to see if my length was the same, it wasn't. We enjoyed ourselves that much, and it only took 2hrs 15mins for 18 holes we decided to play another 9 this morning and this is what happened for me.

1. 274yds 4 Hit green with 4iron, 3 putts.
2. 502yds 4 Drive & 3iron, 2 putts.
3. 186yds 3 9iron, 2 putts.
4. 444yds 4 3wood & 9iron, 2 putts.
5. 325yds 3 Drive & chip, 1 putt.
6. 267yds 3 Hit 3wood on green, 2 putts.
7. 121yds 2 Hit S/W to 3', 1 putt.
8. 260yds 3 Hit 4iron on green, 2 putts.
9. 282yds 3 Hit 3wood on green, 2 putts.

I have driven 5 of the par 4's over the years and only had one Hole in One here, on the 9th. In the 70's & 80's we used to play a 9 Hole medal at least 3 x's per week and you had to shoot 30 or better to win, my record is 25 and it was also the lowest score any of us recorded.

Weekly GR league score. MGD league match aginst stlcard_25. HOG 9 hole match against mediaguru on the front. Noon men's league Team Chicago game. Okay, but not great play for the most part, but I made a 50 foot downhill putt on #18 for an eagle! That putt won the back 9 for the team and won a $12.20 skin for me (9 skins!). Didn't hit a single chip shot all day. Perfect golf weather and and the course is in stellar condition.

That eagle was sweet! I even got to use my new toy...the Fusion Hybrid!

:)

Here is the putt I had on #18.

Last night in my 9-hole league I had my worst score in probably 20 years or more.

I shot a 55, and if the putter wasn't "hot" might have scored 60! Nothing worked, and every lie was bare dirt or short moss. Pushed drives, topped fairway woods, sh--ked irons. But I kept the composure and didn't let it affect the guys I was playing with! The week before, at the same course, I shot 42 and was unhappy with that!

Golf is so humbling!

Nice round dude

Not sure about that 4 ball better ball thing, though it is a 4 ball competition & it is the better ball in each team. Though I always thought it was called foursome when playing this way in two teams of two, when you play the better ball. (could be wrong of course)

I beat my best score at my home course last year by a stroke today and had fewer putts than every round there last year...too bad I got a triple on #18 hehe. I was 2 over after 17 and shot 1 under on the front.

77 with 11/14 fairways, 8 greens, and 29 putts:

This was a GR virtual match against Wishbone86, too...won that one!

;)

This is worth writing about.

Played our Academy (Executive) 9 this evening.

For fun I decided to play with less than a full bag.
2hi, 7, 9, sw, putter.

Shot even 32 with two birdies and two bogies.
Birdies were chip-in for a 3, and on in reg with a 1 putt.

I played in the Golden Spike Amateur today. This is a Utah Golf Association tournament and a good one. This is one of my favorite UGA tournaments, but the weather can be ugly for it. The weather was great the past few times including today.

My goal was to beat last year's 83 and I shot an 82, so I guess mission accomplished. I probably didn't win anything, but I never expect to win anything in these tournaments. I had a 5 handicap for this tournament. My only chance of winning anything back is getting a skin, but I only had two birdies and one was on a par 5.

Here is the scorecard:

http://www.mygolfdomain.com/round_view.php?round=1511

I took lots of photos and will post one or two.

:)
