Well, I did aiight for Boomer's Bombers, the virtual team that I am on. Boomer's Bombers is Boomer (namesake), valeogut, stlcard_25, and me. We're not doing well in the standings so far, but we're having a pretty good week this week.

Here are my comments for the round:

Week 7 GR virtual league score for Boomer's Bombers. MGD virtual league match against keith. GS virtual league match against mediaguru. Weekly men's league noon game.

I shot a 76 (39-37). Hit 13 greens to tie a personal best since keeping track last year. Missed #17 and #18 greens, too. The putts weren't dropping especially on the front nine. Scored well for Boomer's Bombers and shot under my 8 league handicap.

Here is my scorecard:

Nice day...90's apparently. It's a dry heat!

I shot a 78 in the Glen Eagle UGA Amateur today. I shot my handicap and didn't win anything. I came close to reaching my goal of shooting 10 strokes less than last year. I just needed to make a few of the several putts that I missed 4 feet and closer.

Here is my scorecard in Game Tracker:

I went out at 6:45 AM and finished at 11..... Very slow for me... Anyways, i shot 100 even with some bad driving but good short game, almost chipped it in twice.

45 on a 9 hole executive course. Two pars, one bogey, three double bogeys, and the rest of the holes had pitiful scores.

Last Sunday I scored 136 over 18 holes. I hated that score too. But at least I scored my first par on the third hole of the course last week.

My putting's killing me. 21 putts today, and 48 putts last week.

Pistol vs Mr Bogey Epic Battle May 20 06 (windy 92 degree day) White tees

No hole by hole scoring on this 18 holer. Pistol birdied the 9th to tie the side and win the press, then Mr Bogey bogeyed the last hole to lose the back 1 down and the 18 hole match 1 down. Mr Bogey loses 3 50c bets despite beating Pistol in gross score - gotta win those finishing holes!

The game I remember playing feels like it is right around the corner. This round I made a few shots that tell me good play - subpar rounds type of play - is imminent. I have basically been overhauling my game, my ball-striking philosophy, while at the same time making major changes in my putting style and now my chipping style. Yeah, Pistol has been kicking my can bet-wise, but the matches are always close, and in our last 9 rounds the score has been tied 5 times and each of us has scored lower 2 times. Pistol has been very generous advice-wise, and his advice has been right on. These changes and a coupla new clubs (3 wood and 3H) are giving me a fresh approach.

Gross Scores Pistol 76, Mr Bogey 75 Pistol wins $1.50

06 Match record: Pistol 27 Mr. Bogey 9 Tied 9
Pistol has $26.00 lead

I was very pleased with my round yesterday. I play nine on a par 34 every Saturday morning. Yesterday I shot 42 (my personal best is 40). What I liked about the round yesterday was that I had 5 greens in regulation; 4 pars and a par 3 BIRD. What was particularly cool was that I used a 7 iron to "putt" a shot out of a sand trap, tight in to the cup, just like the pros!! Very, very exciting.

Got out for 36 today. Played terrible the first 18 and shot 91. Iron game was good but I couldnt put a chip within 10 ft. I was basicly scrambling for par but I missed about 5 par putts by 2 inches or less. Ugly triple bogey on #3 didnt help either.

Second 18, I played somewhat decent on the front but on the back I was tired and my game was leaving me quickly so I decided to just not take score and enjoy the game. I had a lot more fun even though I was playing horrible. We really do forget how fun golf can be if you just enjoy the game instead of trying to score better all the time.

But....those good shots are fun too...hehe. On 18, 135 par 3, I landed a gap wedge pin high 1 ft left of the hole, it bounced to 5 ft past then spun back to within 2 ft. One of the most beautiful golf shots I've ever made. Tap-in bird.

I played 7 holes in torrential rain on Sunday. So wet I didn't bother with a scorecard. Standing water on most green - it was a joke. I learned something though - I need to invest in a new rainproof jacket!

Another 97 for me. A real tough day though. My chipping and putting were not as well as they usually are what saves my from the doubles and triples. Only 1 par. What a let down. I did manage to save bogey on an island par 3, after I put my first in for a swim (could've had a birdie!). A pair of 8's drained any chance for a "I broke 90!" thread. All in all, I did hit the ball well and am starting to develop a draw. I only used driver on 4 holes (2 resulted in OB). I only got 1 FIR and 0 GIR's - mostly because the old slice seems to be history! Now to work on my aiming.....
