Pistol is a stroke to two strokes per round stronger than me, and has been for a few years (obviously); tho our matches are almost always quite close, Pistol has that edge. Before you start feeling too sorry for me, it wasn't always this way. I used to track group scoring and for several years I had that 1-2 stroke edge over Pistol. For the past three years it has cost me about 37 cents a round to play with Pistol - I think I can afford it. I should have a couple of chances left this year to get that big # 26!
I'm taking the rest of the year off.....without pay....

Frustrated...shot 45/42 and felt like I was hanging on with my fingernails...been working alot on my short game and realized towards the end of the round that I was overthinking everything...try again tomorrow...

I really enjoy these posts of your epic battles and it must be great to have a friend with similar abilities to play with so often. But I think I might try to negotiate a stroke a side if I were you, mr_bogey... even if it is just pocket change.

Played a new course for me today. Really cold when we started, warming into the low 50's by the end. No driving range at this course, so we started cold. I was 8 over on the front and 1 over on the back for an 81.. Nice course, I would like to play it again now that I know where to hit it.

Played home course. Walked with my usual Sunday morning group. 41 on the front so I wasn't really playing badly. Had two chances at birdies on 6 and 7. Hit the stick on both holes and was left with 10ft plus on both. Lackluster putting made those into pars. Just couldn't seem to get anything going. On the back, the wind started to howl and I struggled in at straight up bogie golf. 45 on the back for an 86 overall.

93 today, went with Inconsistent and another friend of mine today at my home course, tried out his new Bang driver today, nice driver! temps today reached into the mid 70's with a nice breeze. after two weeks of being able to do just about anything i wanted to with my driver, it took a hiatus today. rhythm was off today, that's golf.

Could not get it together today...42 and 45 for an 87...one of those days when I would step to the ball and really feel I had no chance of hitting it properly, just a bit out of sorts in general...
