Had another rough iron day...something is awry and needs some looking into...worked out the driver and the putter over the last week and played both well on my way to an 85...same old feeling of being a step away from all the pieces falling into place...love that feeling...

Shot 79 yesterday afternoon, kind of stumbled down the stretch...not really choke, just misread 3 putts.

At North Ranch CC near the Target Challenge after watching the pro-am I played in a money game with local members and Steve Pate. It was my first time on the course and I don't know if I was inspired from the Tour event or whatever but I played my best in the last 6 months. I hit almost every fairway and green, including stuffing a 2 iron on a 240 par 3 with a lake guarding the green. I shot -4 playing the last several holes as a 12some to beat the fading sun. Very inspiring, and profitable!

Played better today...only made it through 11 holes and was +6 largely in part to a triple bogey disaster to end a run of 5 pars in a row...putting was good, finished with 18...

Unbelievable to play in MA this time of year so I snuck in 9 before work. Shot a 43 on the back 9. The back 9 is much tougher than the front where I play so I was happy with that. Unfortunately I had to go to work or I would have had a real chance of breaking my personal best of 85.

Took advantage of a nice, warm day yet again here in the Northeast. Conditions were excellent, and hooked up with some guys at my club that I enjoy playing with, which always makes a pleasant difference.

Shot two-under 70, three birds and a lone bogie. Won $80 (which will undoubtedly be spent taking the Mrs. out to dinner this weekend). :)

Dec. 15 golf in NJ

Played 9 holes today - double bogey, par, double bogey, then 6 straight pars. Took a few holes to warm up. Driving, chipping and putting were in mid-season form. It was GREAT to get out.

I had a 41 on the front nine yesterday and played 3 holes before succumbing to dipping temperatures and 25 mph winds today. Being sick, I didn't feel that pneumonia was a fair price to pay for playing a mediocre round of golf by myself.

Couldn't resist a last chance to play for a while (probably months). I just played a quick 9 in the afternoon. It's not every year that we get to play in near 60 degree weather in the middle of December! The birdie on that last hole, a long par 4, was a great way to finish the 2006 season. Plus, I am the last person to be on the course for the year hehe.

scorecard:

http://www.mygolfdomain.com/round_view.php?round=3635

great shot to end the 2006 season:

Easily one of the best shots of the year! I had to slice it around a tree (big slice). I was about 220 yards out. I opened my stance way up, swung outside-in, hit it exactly on the starting line that I wanted and it sliced exactly how much was needed. The ball ended up 6 feet below the hole and I made the putt for a birdie! Birdies are rare on this difficult par 4. I was playing the White tees because I started out with another player, but it was a spectacular birdie and the last shot of the 2006 season!

I need to hire someone to putt for me. I hit 14 greens today and wasn't in trouble but once - and still had a putt at par then. I didn't save any of those 4 pars on my missed greens, and had 5 3-putts - kinda negating the 3 15 foot birdie putts I did make, as I had 38 putts on my round to complement my 40 shots. This is the answer to the riddle - how does one hit 14 greens and still have 9 bogeys?

Shot a gross 77 off 8 handicap today in our monthly medal. Lost a ball on the 17th and finish second, one behind the winner.

Took advantage of a unseasonably warm weekend here in CT. Shot a 46 for nine holes yesterday and a 46 today. It was an early Christmas present to be out playing golf in December.
