Monday I shot a very dissapointing 86...if I could have made some putts I would have been in good shape but it took me 39 putts. I shanked my pw 4 times yesterday. I was on the 2nd hole which is a 415 yard par 4. Hit a perfect drive and was inside the 100 yard marker. (The hole goes downhill after about 250 and it's a large drop...thats how it was a 315+ drive lol) Shanked my pw about 20 yards right of the green and ended up with a bogey.
Played a new course I'd never played called Canebrake which is a semi private course and chose to play it at around 6300 yds. since the back and the champions tees all had very long pars threes with the minimum being 189, I think. Shot a 40 and a 47 for the first two nines including making birdies on all four par 5's but then the guys wanted to go eat at the clubhouse and my back started tightening up and shot an 100 for the second 18. That was on sunday and monday we played a course called Colonial and it has a bunch of trees which doesn't agree with my driving and shot 92 and 96, I believe. Gave the scorecards to my brother in law from Indiana so he would have a keepsake for the trip. Can't wait to get back to my usual easy course that is open for the most part.
I shot a 72 (+2) for a nett 67 in Captains Day to come 3rd. I was really pleased with my level par 35 back 9, which is the harder 9. Plus I'm now down to 4!
i shot a 97 saturday which is pretty bad. my irons were fine, driving was fine, short game was ok, but i had 45 putts anyone have a suggestion to putt better?
Another dissapointing day...shot 88 at a new course. Tips were 6800+ so it was pretty long, the putter was awesome but driving sucked. I hit 6/14 fairways and had to scramble ALL day.
Played 9 holes on friday, and after 8 holes I was level, one birdie, one bogey & a sand save. Just needed a par on the last and proceeded to pull it OOB . Finished with a 7 (par 4) so +3 overall. Was still happy, but a very silly mistake, and the worst drive of the day (maybe should listened to my instinct and taken the 3w?)
I shot 1 under today in the weekly men's league 9 hole tournament at Valley View.
That is my best score there this year. I have not been able to score there because of my back/leg problem earlier, but I proved that I can play there again. My back isn't healed, but it doesn't bother me when playing golf now (works for me).
+11 through 11 holes before it was too dark to play. 4 fairways, 3 greens, 1 hosel rocket, and 4 up-and-downs. Pleased to see my short game is improving. Now I've got to kill that evil slice monster that keeps popping up his ugly head from time to time.
