Eagle Creek Resort, black tees (132 slope/ 73.5 rating)... did pretty good shot a -2 70. 5 birdies, 10 pars, and 3 bogeys. iron play was crazy good today. i was stuffing everything close. i hit 10/18 GIR, all my misses were to sucker pins and weren't really bad misses. off the tee i wasn't near as good as i would have liked. hit 9/14 fairways, i usually hit 12+. putting was good once again, 26 total putts, 15 on the front and 11 on the back. i feel like i could have taken my score a lot lower too. i was kinda in hurry-up mode the whole round because it was 36* out. hopefully i can continue this when it warms up and carry it all year. my goal is to to get to a +1 hcp from my current 1.9 hcp... rounds like this will make that a reality hopefully :)
My 12th round this season, and my 2nd time breaking 80. I'm actually getting pretty jazzed about my game. Today I shot 78, 6 over par, with just 28 putts.
It could have been even better if the wind hadn't gone bonkers as we started the back 9. After almost dead calm for the first 10 holes, on #11 the wind started blowing from the east, then the north, then finally settled into the west, gusting as high as 30 mph. That made it quite difficult to even stroke a putt on line, but I still held it together for a back nine 40, to go with the 38 on the front.
I'm now looking forward to my first tournament of the season this Saturday.
Shot a 103 today. I had a couple of blow up holes which hurt me. My goal this year is to shoot in low 90's....Consistently. Didnt do it today, but there is always tomorrow, or the next day, or the next....you get the picture.
i shot a 104 on my home course and that is my lowest as of yet there. I shot a 57 going out (ouch!!) but i finally broke 50 coming in with a 47 on the back nine. Putter was working really well and my short game was very good now my long game and off of the tee still needs a little work but i am hitting it straight just not nearly as far as i would like.......
played 18 holes at the University of Illinois Blue Course today. did pretty good. -1, 71... 39 on the front and 32 on the back. front 9 i couldn't get the putter hot. back 9 was amazing, i honestly think i could have shot a 29 on the back. hit 5/14 fairways, didn't miss the fairways by too much, 10yds. at the most. hit 10/18 GIR. most of my misses were due to the nasty wind (20+mph most of the round). putting was ice cold on the front 9. 15 putts there. back 9 was amazing.... 7 1-putts and 2 2-putts for a 11 putts on the back 9. 26 total putts, i could get used to 26 putts a round every round :) last year ito took me until September to shoot under par... already this year i have 2 rounds under par. can't wait for it to warm up and get some real golf in :)
I gots a busy schedule with college and all but i finally managed to get out to the course for the first nine of the season. I ended up with a 39 which was pretty solid and i hit some solid shots for the first time out in 3 months. I did something that caught me off guard though. Last hole par 5, I EAGLE IT, now ive been trying to eagle this thing for the last 3 years. and i do it on my first time out in the spring. hopefully thats a good sign of things to come.
GIR-2 FWR-4 PARS-4 BOGEYS-2 DBLBGY-2 EAGLE-1 PUTTS - 14
84 at Del Lago Golf Club in Vail AZ yesterday, the wind was at least 3 clubs the whole time, and with only about 3 holes helping all day on holes where it didnt exactly matter made it impossible.
I had 2 birdies, and i think 5 ******** doubles, some of the worst golf I have played in 2 months
I really loved the course and very nice greens, I really want to play here again, but thwne the stupid wind isnt there
If I was 79, I would have shot my age this past Saturday. Windy muni course, men's (blue) tees, weather in the high 50s. Had to birdie the last hole to break 80. Man, this is a great game!
It looks like I'm snowed out this week for men's league tournaments. We'll probably have to wait at least another week to start the weekly Thursday game at Bountiful Ridge.
I did get to play in a two man scramble there Saturday. We got lucky and missed the snow by a day. It wasn't bad weather for our afternoon round on this mountain course. We couldn't make a putt and didn't even ever get under par.
I enjoyed watching a golf buddy start his season there by hitting the best drives I have seen him hit. He hit the first 11 fairways and longer than before. He picked up a Taylor Made R7 driver late last season and it has been a huge improvement over his old driver...he has an all TM set that he got soon after.
It might hit 70 degrees Saturday and I have my 2nd UGA tournament to play. It's across the street from where I work. I have played 9 there a few times after work as soon as the snow melted (for a while). It's a 27 hole course.
I'm hopeful for the tournament since I shot a 73 in the first tournament at another course. This one is a little more hazardous and I'm sure we'll be playing the tips with tough pin locations so it will be much more hazardous than the first tournament.
I only have time during the week to play a 9 hole executive at 4:30pm and shot a 41 after paying less than 18 months. It was my personal best and I am only now making sure I play a few times a week.
played the home course (RedTail Run) for the first time this year. black tees (slope/rating = 132/74.4). shot a 79... didn't play too well today. 6/14 Fairways, if i could've hit more fairways my score would have been much lower, i was spraying the ball like mad. 6/18 GIR, iron play was actually decent. my misses weren't bad, i could've easily hit 14+ GIR. 31 putts... TERRIBLE, i can't remember the last time i had over 30 putts in a round. highlight of the round for me... using the distance given on my SkyCaddie i had 163yds. to the center of the green, easy 9i, slight crosswind. hit the most solid 9i ever... sailed over the green. i marked the spot on SkyCaddie to get the distance... 193yds. felt pretty good to get a 9i that far, but don't want to make a habit of it.
