do you think your playing partner has an effect on how you play. my wife set up a day of golf for me with one of her friends husband .ive met him before but today he was late. he brought a friend. it ended up those two playing a round and me just tagging along. there was no hey nice shot or jokeing. i havent played this bad since i started this game. i shot a 98. everything ive worked so hard to fix all came back at once i was sliceing ,skulling ,3 putting. i even completely missed the ball twice. i looked like an idiot. and wasted a beautiful day.i had more fun cleaning my clubs after i was done . no more play dates for me. EVER.
I played in a men's league Chicago tournament. It was a beautiful afternoon about 60 degrees. I finally got to play some golf in a t-shirt on the back nine. I didn't score well, but my swing is coming back and my bad back hasn't been bothering me.
Alright...I really need to recover my financial losses on my site, but I'll give everyone here a full membership at my site for the rest of the year. Just mention Golf Rewind as the referral when you register. I know that there are a few game trackers that are free (haven't tried them), but I think you'll like my site and the mobile scorekeeper.
Let's start seeing those beautiful scorecards and photos.
41 on par 34. Putting was worst. If i made a couple 7-10 footers it would have been in easily a high 30's round.
A rough estimate,, but the greens here are probably 10-11 on the stimpmeter.
on one hole, the ball wouldnt stay on the green, only if you were lucky.
I spent 30 min on that green just hitting balls on it. (no one was playing) You would hit one and if its just a wee to hard or a wee to soft, it would roll right. off the green. I felt like i was playing Augusta.
Double Bogey on 17 and a three putt bogey on 18 brought me to 11 over par and two shot over my handicap of 9. Extremely pleased as it was my first stroke play competition of the season.
Shot a 74 with a ball out of bounds on Saturday to win the monthly medal by 2 shots in division 1. Had an eagle on the par 4 3rd which helped. The course standard scratch was up 3 shots due the the howling wind.
yeah, it was way too windy last Saturday in a men's league tournament for me too...
I've never had the ball move several inches before I got to putt hehe. I was just starting to get set up and the ball moved away because it was so windy...yeah...the wind...that's it.
What is the rule on that? At what point is it a penalty if at all? I think if you fully address the ball and it moves it's a penalty, but I'm not sure. I hope to never have that happen to me again anyway hehe. That wind was non-stop...not much fun.
played a quick 9 holes this afternoon. shot a -1 35. 8 pars, 1 birdie. 2/7 fairways.... driving the ball wasn't a strong point today. 7/9 GIR, including getting on in 2 on a par 5. 16 putts... need to get that number down, i normally average 29 putts per 18 holes, so putting wasn't as strong as usual today. hopefully i can get my game firing on all cylinders here before long and start going a little lower.
