in the past two weeks i have shot. 82. 87. 90. at hickory point (didnt care on the last day).
then went to stl. n shot a 89 at oakbrook. and an 94 (which got 6th in the tournament) there was about a 1/4 of a mile walk between holes and was really hilly. So a 94 was really good.
then this week in a match play event i shot a 90 something the first day (sandbagged). then 84 the next to win 1 up. then 8 up 7 the next day. and 5 up 4 in the championship.
The usual noon game at one of my men's league courses today...
I was a par-saving machine on the back nine. I missed 7 greens overall and got up-and-down every time. I finished with 6 one putts, but the chipping made it possible.
I shot 37-34 for Even. The team won the back and 18. We won the back nine by 1/2 point thanks to an eagle/birdie/par 18th hole.
1 under in the weekly men's league today...ties several 35's in the tournament for me and I've not been able to shoot lower. I just needed to birdie the shortish par 5 #9, but had to chip and didn't get up-and-down.
It will be in the money and looked like it might be tied for low gross. They set aside extra winnings for the year and give points if you get in the money. I'll need some more wins to get any bonus money hehe.
The weekly noon game was moved to Wednesday and I just played 9 in the twilight instead.
I started out with an eagle hehe. This is probably the first time I have ever eagled the hole and I've got on in two only a few times. I hit a nice drive, the best 3 wood of the season so far, then made a 60 foot putt for eagle.
I think that is the best I have ever played a hole including my hole-in-ones and especially including the colon.
Here is the card...hope the eagle holds up for a big skin. Someone won $60 last week with an eagle on #1. The 36 should be in the money barely.
I was supposed to play a new course but really didn't feel like driving the distance in the possible thunderstorm, so just played a local par 3 course, did horrible too. Shot 31, 30 (+7 overall), I mean I couldn't buy a birdie if you gave me all the money in the world haha
Red Tail Run, Black Tees (7351yds. 74.4/132) shot a -1 71.
Scovill Golf Club, Blue Tees (5925yds. 68.4/119) short, hilly, tree-lined course. shot a career low -6 65. hit 17/18 GIR and 31 putts. nearly went bogey-free... but i 3 putted on 18. oh well, i'll take a round under par any day.
I played the White tees with a few retired Air Force buddies on the base course. I started out 3 under after 5, but ended up 1 over. It was a really hot weekend and today wasn't nearly bad as yesterday, but still toasty and 100.
I birdied 3 out of the 4 par 5's. I three-putted one. I was over in two on the first, on the front with the pin in the back on the second, short directly in front of the flag on the third, and past pin-high on the fringe on the fourth. It's fun playing par 5's from the White tees hehe.
Today I Finished Up A 2day Junior Tourniment And I Did Realy Well. The First Day I Shot A 72 And Then Today I Was Really Nervous And Got Off To A Rocky Start But Still Shot 74 That Locked Up 2cd Place For Me The Kid Who Beat Me Gets To Play Year Round I Only Play 4 Months Out Of The Year Cuz It Snows Here
Unusual for me to play two days in a row. I had a 73 on a par 70 course, hitting a bunch of bad shots and scrambling like mad to keep the score from going way up. Good short game day, though.
My eagle held up in the "twilight" last week for $10 (5 skins paid). My 36 just did get in the money for $18. I'm probably out of luck this week with the 37-39.
