Had a 37-34--71 with more than a few lip outs. At least most of the putts for par went in (only 1 bogey). I feel better not playing every day, just have to start practicing once or twice a week.
Had an 83, days like this make me mad though, don't play a hole bad, but don't play very many good either, 11 bogies, 7 pars, and 6 GIR's, couldn't make those birds, or up and down pars
I've been playing a little worse this month compared to last month...getting a little golfed out I guess hehe.
I shot another +5 76 in the weekly men's league tournament. I think we might have won something as a team, though. We were +1 and +2 on the front/back in team Chicago format. I might have won a skin on a long par 3, too.
Had one of those rounds that evoke both good dreams and nightmares. Made par on every hole for a 72. Fine for the longer, more difficult holes on the course, but plenty of missed opportunity. Made putts of 35, 25 and 18 feet for par, but missed 4 putts for birdie inside 10 feet. Won 0$ today. Had low gross with my club's mens association, but didn't take any skins, closest to pin (par 3s) or one of the top 6 places of low net (we always play with handicaps). Curses and blessings. At least the dog still likes me.
I haven't posted on this site in a while, but I have been playing a lot lately and I though I'd share my most recent round. I shot a +6 78, my best score in a long time. I was very consistent with my drives, which is unusual for me. Instead of my usual draw, I was kinda coming across it and cutting all my drives. Sure, I lost distance, but I only missed a couple of fairways. My putting definately could've been better, but my iron play was great. I hit the pin on the last hole 195 out with a 6 iron, but missed the 12 footer for birdie.
Played a long 9 hole course today I've not tried in a while. Shot a very poor 47, with 16 putts. Made way too many misshits in both mid irons & some short shots into greens that should have been easy. There again a few good paces & many greens would be cleared the greens were so small.
Though tbh my main reason for playing that particular local long parr 33 9 hole was to help my missus sort out her game, which is comming along quite nicely now. She's still go a lot of problems to address, but there are a lot of possitive & a lot of improvement been made.
One interesting discovery is not only can I judge (eyeball) my own club selection, but have developed a eye for how far she can hit her irons too, which was quite unexpected.
btw she went round 9 in 72 with 23 putts
Think we'll go back there again, as although the wind was quite high today & the weather not brilliant I would have expected the course to be crowded. but the course was really quiet. And boy were those greens slippy & fast, so trying to hold small slippy fast greens was a real nightmare, though my 50 degree NV drew wedge was showing its metal, though just as equally was able to get it to chip'n run without problems.
What was also amazing that although we wen't exactly rushing & I was spending time getting her to do certain things & not do others...lol we got round in less than an hour & a half. There again wse didn't need to wait for anyone either.
Ehh had a so-so day, shot an 11 over 83, and then played 18 more and shot a 17 over 90, although the second 18 I played from the blues, so I guess it would of probably been around an 85 had I played from the whites. Lost a bunch of balls unfortunately, luckily not any of my new Nike One Platinums
After skulling my second shots on the par 4 first and fourth holes guarentee bogies, I birdied #5 and #8, then reeled off 10 pars for an even par 72. It had some interesting parts, like hitting my tee shot into a fairway bunker, then chipping in for a par 4 from over the green on #14 (455 yards, uphill dogleg). Can't remember the last time I skulled two shots in the same round. Still, it was good to recover from the bad start. And with the weather moving up the Florida gulf coast, my next game may be postponed awhile.
