Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

it wasn't today but last round was 44-52-96. the 44 going out is a personal best. 2 birds, 2 snowmen, and assorted other #'s. first time i've counted putts, had 38 for 18 holes. not sure what that means. 3 3putts, couple of 1 putts, and alot of 2 putts. really starting to dig my long irons as alternate tee weapons now. when i'm not slicing balls into the woods on par 5's, it makes a huge difference.
the hybrid's back in the bag til spring cause nothing flies very far in the cold. cold balls are no fun...

yeah, the front's not terribly evil if you play smart. but the back 9 has a stretch of 4 holes that kill me every time. 2 par 4's & 2 par 5's. not really long, but tight tee shots and lots of ob opportunities. the second of the par 5's i hit 3wd, 4i, 3i & was about 10 feet off the elevated green. out comes the lob wedge. anyways i took an 8 on that hole. pure evil. but lots of fun anyways.

Saturday - 93 in the monthly Stableford = 31 points. 30 mph winds may have had an effect. Actually drove the ball very well, 8 of 12 fairways hit, but could not buy a putt (2 stuck on the lip, 3 toilet bowls). Also some idiot failed to repair his pitchmark, and my ball, which was rolling up for a tap in, hit it and stopped dead. cost me a shot right there...

Welcome back boomer, good round. It sounds like a monster.

On another note, please have a look at the OGs vs YGs thread. The team criteria has been changed, so that experienced , muture individuals such as yourself have the opportunity to decide whether you'd like to join other experienced, mature, like-minded individuals on the OGs or hop into the kiddie pool with the loser...er YGs. Let me be the first to extend you a warm welcome to play with the grown-ups. :nodsmiley

97, had a 92 coming up to the Par 3 18th. Placed it about 2 feet onto the front of the green, leaving me a nasty uphill, right to left at about 45 ft. And ofcourse, knowing all I needed was a par to finish at 95. . . I gunned it up the hill, and about 12 feet past.

So frustrated, ended up leaving the down hill putt short, and then with maybe 2 feet left, the ball ringed around the cup, and out. Leaving me 2 inch to take my double bogey and go home.

Anyways, first round to go into the club's handicap system. Should be interesting once I get 4 more rounds in there.

I shot a 90 today on my home course (par 70 slope 120). Not bad considering it's been raining non-stop for 2 weeks so it was very soggy. 1 birdie and 3 pars but 2 triples did me in.
