However I remember the days of playing mostly every day and what glorious days those were, mostly when I was a junior member. I played rain or shine and enjoyed it. Now even a hint of rain puts me off and living in Scotland that's most of the year.
Just wondering if any of you guys have had similar experiences and if you have any advice of how to regain the 'golf bug'.

You know, I wonder what attracts us to golf in the first place. It takes persistence of some order to play golf to a level where we feel somewhat in control. Is it the challenge and the little 'nugget' that comes when a shot comes off perfectly. Or is it the competition with our mates that means we can still halve a hole with a double bogey on occasion? Or is it the magnificent sight of a white ball against the sky sailing out into the yonder? Or that long snaking putt?
To regain motivation, it means that we must find out why we played the game in the first place. If 'poor' golf is ruining our game, then what is the solution? Either we learn to enjoy the game for itself, or we take up the challenge of 'getting better' or.......we give up, and then miss the things we 'used to do'.
Unfortunately, no one can do this for us and we have to find our own 'motivation' but it has to come from within, not some pep talk to ourselves to 'make us do it'. Get a dream, get inspired, that is my way of 'being motivated'....and enjoying myself regardless.
