This stat, while somewhat significant, especially for those who play the same course all of the time, is not as relevant for me as I've played 24 rounds this year on 13 different courses, with extreme variations in difficulty.
FWIW, here are the Top 6 players and their Best/West this year
Tiger - Best: 63, Worst: 76 (13 shots)
Furyk - 64, 79 (15)
Lefty - 65, 78 (13)
Els - 65, 78 (13)
Scott - 62, 82 (20)
Padraig - 63, 80 (17)
Vijay - 64, 79 (15)
This is a rather interersting thread. My delta may be a little tighter then the thread avg, which I would not have guessed. My rounds this year are spread over 8 different courses, two of which I had never played before. So I had plenty of opportunity to put up a stinker and have a higher delta. As it goes my 105 was at one of those courses I had never played before. It had a 128 rating, and some of the fastest most deceiving greens I have ever seen. I was almost happy to get off that course with only a 105.
At the very beginning of this year, I was averaging low 100's. In the past 4 months, I've been averaging mid 90's, with my 2 best rounds of 88 and 90 coming back to back about 2 months ago.
Best Round 88. Worst round 115 (that is when the dang Duck Hook raised it's ugly head).
I have been battling that ever since. My rounds have been between 98-100 ever since.
I may have finally gotten my swing back on plane so I hope to break 90 again real soon.
Lol...it is hard to score when your drives duck hook off the golf course. I am going to try to real hard to break 90 on Sunday.
