Played Singing Hills in San Diego today. First time I have been there since the Scycuan Casino Indians bought it a few years back. What a great job they have done to that track!! The restaurant is way better in terms of menu and still pretty reasonable. Range balls upgraded with fence better at the end. Greens were excellent and the course exhibited ample watering and great grass growth. Greens held and rolled true. What a difference from the lousy conditions at Torrey Pines where I normally play. Maintenance was great with fine definition to fairways etc... So beautiful late in the day with the sun going down, a soft breeze and just a magnificent experience. I love golf in October!!! Anyway, two thumbs up on Singing Hills in San Diego for anyone interested.
I've never played any golf in California. However, if I ever get out there, I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of money...
How much was it to play? What were the rates for R/NR? Just curious.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I live right by SH. I'm right behind Steel Canyon. I agree that SH is one of my favorite courses in the area. Are you from SAn Diego?
Hello Hkmiz. Yeah, I live in La Costa. Like to play Presidio every Saturday morning at 8:30 am. Grren fee of $12 and best place in the world to sharpen your short game. I am also in the Torrey Pines Men's Club and play in our monthly tournaments.

our group played at carlton oaks on our spring golf trip last march. this spring we want to take a day and play torrey pines, but are you saying that singing hills has torrey pines beat?
also, what's the best way to get on torrey pines if that's where our group wants to play?
Hello Stagday-- Torrey's green fees for non-residents on weekends are $135 South and $85 North. Weekdays are $115 and $75 respectively. If you are booking a tournament, call (858) 552-1610. They will also ding you a "tournament fee" of about $25 per player. Torrey South is one of the best courses in the world and a true monster. Maintenance is poor, at best. Nice views though. For my money, I would rather play Singing Hills. But then again, I play Torrey all the time so no novelty involved. I still think Tijuana Country Club is one of the best courses around. Everyone loves to play Cottonwood also. It is flat and fun and always in good shape. Good luck and PLAY MORE GOLF.

Hmm, really? My uncle plays Torrey Pines when he goes out to San Diego/LaJolla for business trips, and he loves it. I'll tell him about Singing Hills though!

Get outta here! Over a hundred for $11/$75! When did this happen? I remember about 2 yrs ago I walked onto South and it was $35 to walk. These must be the fee if you go through a broker right? Tell me I'm right..please..geez
As far as somebody asking you how to get on Torry..well..that depends..but from my single, die hard days if you spend a night in the parking lot you gotta a good chance to play..very common.
