RSS/Atom Feeds for Golf-Related Sites

Neither PGATour.com nor thegolfchannel.com has RSS feeds. ESPN has feeds for just about every other sport but golf. There's one feed at 2rss.com but no others.

Why can't PGATour.com or TGC push out some feeds? Does anyone here even use an aggregator besides me? It's great for some things (politics, geek news), horrid for others (golf).

2rss.com might only list one golf feed but there is one other out there you might not know about. Golf Rewind's very own RSS feed.

I don't use an aggregator but I added it to myYahoo! There was an announcement somewhere about it but I don't know where it is. If you have myYahoo! and would like to add it, you can use this link.

Thanks Montipora. I didn't even know you could add it to MyYahoo! That's a pretty neat feature.

Yes, I use an aggregator. I like share reader the best. Here is a list of some of the golf rss feeds I have found. Here's a trick for finding rss feeds on sites that don't really advertise the fact that they have them, like pga.com.

Go to google.com, and type this in the search box:

rss site:pga.com

that's how I found these. I also have a lot of rss feeds for golf blogs, let me know if you want these also.

Here is the definition of rss:
Quote:
What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a lightweight XML format designed for sharing headlines and other Web content. Think of it as a distributable "What's New" for your site. Originated by UserLand in 1997 and subsequently used by Netscape to fill channels for Netcenter, RSS has evolved into a popular means of sharing content between sites (including the BBC, CNET, CNN, Disney, Forbes, Motley Fool, Wired, Red Herring, Salon, Slashdot, ZDNet, and more). RSS solves myriad problems webmasters commonly face, such as increasing traffic, and gathering and distributing news. RSS can also be the basis for additional content distribution services.
You basically download a news aggregator, like sharpreader, or you can add them to my.yahoo.com, and it pulls the headlines given out by the rss feed. As to copyrights, I'm sure they would be the same as if you went to the site. But, if you wanted to incorporate them into a web page, it wouldn't be a problem, since that's why the site is offering the feed.

I hope that all makes sense, I haven't had my coffee yet.
