Well basically you can go through Q school and I believe th top 25 players each year in the school get tour cards. Or you could play on the Hooters tour...anyone can play on the Hooters tour if you pay your way on, but there are some good golfers on there. I think pretty much anyone can try to qualify for a Nationwide event too.

What is Q school?
Where do you try to qualify for the Nationwide event?
Umm I don't know of any links and I just finished 3 hours of homework so I don't really feel like looking but I do know that Q School is $5000 and it is a progressive tournament with several stages to it. It is suposed to touhger to get throught then Navy Seals boot camp. My coach lost in a playoff for his card and he said it was the 2nd time he had ever cried. The first was when his mother died. As far as Nationwide Tour events they have monday qualifying which is probably a little less than the $500 the PGA Tour charges. You can qualify for the Nationwide Tour by getting to the final stage of Q School as well.
While I have never attempted to go thru Q-school, there are few things I can imagine that could be tougher than SealCamp.
Perhaps Allen89 was referring to the "odds" of making it through Q-school compared to the odds of making it through Navy Seal camp. Certainly the physical requirements for each are on opposite ends of the scale.
To put it in perspective, a couple years ago, I shot 66 in a Monday Qualifier for a NATIONWIDE TOUR event and DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE EVENT! If a player isn't routinely shooting in the mid-60's from the back tees at his local courses, he shouldn't even waste his money on Q-School. Although it is fun to dream, occasionally breaking par doesn't cut it, even in the Club Professional Championships...much less ANY of the Tour's.
League, I've never been one to be considered PC. Right now, there is only one female player I can think of that falls into that category and she is not old enough. But yes, ANY player that is routinely shooting mid-60's from the back tees (YES, Finishing ALL 18 Holes under the Rules of Golf) could consider Q-School but even then only a small percentage of those players will make it. For those that should actually be at Q-School based on ability and experience, I'd guess that 1/2 make it to some kind of playing status for the following year(whether Nationwide or PGA Tour and some based on their performance pick up additional sponsorships for Hooters, Golden Bear, etc...). The problem are all of the players that shot 69 one time and think they are ready to go play for a living that gag and shoot 90...
