It isn't North Carolina. I have gone there after Christmas for the last three years. One year it was too cold to play. They next it was ok, but they had just finished going through an ice storm. Then last year it was just too cold agian. The weather is just too unpredictable.
I certainly haven't been to all the eligible destinations but you can bet that if I'm taking a "WINTER" golf vacation......it's going to be someplace where I can get a sunburn and an exotic drink. Well maybe not in that order!
See, you are letting your lack of knowledge show again. Louisiana is famous for best kept secrets, and the secrets are not just the food.
The best kept secret I've ever heard come out of Louisiana is that you've got game! Now that really would be a secret....so secret, in fact, that it's yet to be sighted!
florida. mainly ocala. weve got some great courses that are realitivily unknown. courses like El diablo. country club of ocala. Black diamond ranch (isnt in ocala but close enough to claim) lake diamond, harbor hills.. the list goes on and on.
As an explanation of my "other" vote, I'd say South Carolina or Georgia, meaning the Charlestown or Savannah areas. Can't spend ALL your time golfing (I can't anyway), and those areas have a lot of history, natural beauty, and interesting architecture, as well as good courses. Would also like to try the Lower Mississippi (again, for history and nature-viewing); must be some good courses down that way.
