Bogey Train

Who here has trouble riding this beast of the golf course ?
Getting off it is one of the hardest things in golf ....or is it ?
For me , if i think par - and fail , its a bogey
So to get off the train I have to think BIRDIE

Also , when I'm getting par after par and start counting them ,I get sucked into thinking "hey 2 more pars and thats 10 in a row" Birdie is no longer my goal then and when I fail ! its welcome aboard the train.

anybody else relate to the above ?

carrying yummy chocky bars and letting yaself eat 1 for each birdie is one tool I use for helping with focus and positive visualisation

yup, but maybe not thinking about it is the best, but when all-else fails, be sure to have that snickers bar in your bag. it's the one bar that can change a bad game to a good one. lol

That's why I've got a hip flask of good scotch in the bag, if the game wasn't to good ......you don't care anyway.

Cheers,
Jim

Well, I play off 20 at the moment, so 18 bogeys would be a result! I do make a lot of doubles if I play safe for the bogey though...

"Bogey train"--I like that.

What else is there? A par car? A birdie bus? An eagle engine?

When I step onto the first tee, I can hear the conductor call, "All aboard!" And in spite of myself, I find a way to catch that train, only occasionally riding on the par car for a few consecutive holes. :nodsmiley

I guess its another way the game makes you stop think about playing 1 shot at a time ..
btw GG you gotta watch ya waistline , so take a mirror instead of the snickers
mind you , theres more chance of Forged beating League than of you chipping in for birdie hehehehe

I tend to do better when I am shooting for pars not birdies. Trying to makes birdies makes me make bogies or doubles. I just try to let them come as they do.

You weigh up the each approach as it comes
But if i have par in mind anywhere near the green - its a recipe for disaster
1 shot at a time .....chip in for birdie !!!
unless its a lag chip , i guess that doesnt need explaination

I try to not think about my score, it always turns out better that way. that's why I think i play better when someone else keeps score.
