First Tournament!

My local course is having a juniors tournament the monday after christmas (dec 27th)! I'm still a beginner but I know I will have an awesome time. I am looking forward to playing with my Launcher and wedges I'm getting for x-mas, hopefully I can get in some practice on the sunday right after the 25th so I won't be cold to them.

Im 16 so I will be in the 16-18 year old group. There are some very good players around here, I just hope I can hold my ground. I'm sure no matter what, it was be a cool experience.

I'm gunna try to get in as much practice as possible the week before, since I will be out of school. I definently dont wanna hit any disgusting mis-hits or anything like that. Although I have really tamed my slice a good deal, worm burners worry me. Any advice on drills and/or how to shake my nerves?

Thanks,
Jack.

Make shure you stay serrious while playing and don't get too cought up in your score. It sounds like some very good players will be playing and some will even be playing in your group and the last thing you want to to do is make the other kids mad for distractions.

Good luck! There's nothing like a first tournament.. you'll remember it forever.

EDIT: Funny.. I can't even remember when my first tournament was .

Maybe you should play the tournament with your old set of clubs instead of taking the clubs out that you got for Christmas. You wouldn't want to pull a Phil would you?

Keep your head still like its in a vice. relax and enjoy. You know you're going to get a whooping by the kids who have more experience. So don't waste time worring about that.

See if an OEM manufacturer's scout is there, and try to get sponsored... preferably by Titleist or TaylorMade!

Other than that, just have fun.
