Clubs are under the tree

My wife went and picked up my golf clubs last night, and they are waiting under the X-Mas tree.
I am getting closer to becoming a golfer. I never would have thought I would be this excited about learning a new game, especially one that I used to think was rather a silly game, but I have to admit, the lure of it all to me now is overwhelming. The challenge thats ahead of me has such a firm hold on me, its hard to explain. I know this post probably means little to most of you, but I had to vent some of my excitment. :nodsmiley

Dont get disapointed in the beginning, you will miss a lot of shots, it will improve one day, hopefully...

Work on patience and relaxation once the excitement wears off. You will need enormous amounts of both: patience as you struggle with consistency and relaxation that your muscles need to remain flexible to produce good swing speed. I really don't know of any other sport that requires one's grip and motions to be both firm but relaxed for any kind of success.

Ed I had a guy tell me " You chase a silly white ball all over the place, what a goofy game" And later he became a bigger golf nut than I. It sounds like you are getting hooked but you will never regret it.

Regardless of how long you've been playing the game a new set of clubs always brings excitement. Welcome to the fraternity!
