Excellent, lowrider! I forget the first birdie I made (I was a kid; it was so long ago!), but I do remember the first birdie I made as an adult, after not playing golf for about 20 years or so. Great moment, isn't it? May it be the first of many more for you!
Way to go lowrider. Those pars should come easy now. I wish I could remember my 1st one... I started pretty young ... can't remember any of those milestones.
Like wazmankg and JimSomebody, my first birdie is lost in the fog of my youthful experiences, the apparent victim of my brain's constant discarding of once vivid memories to make room for the barrage of daily facts from the media. But I'm sure, like yours, that my first birdie was more accident than skill. Golf is to some extent a game of luck, so enjoy the good after having experienced a bit of the bad.
The first birdie can be a pyschological barrier. So youll probably make a few now, I waited 18 months for my first and then made a handful over the next few rounds.
Congrats! It's fun to remember those golf milestones. It's what makes the game so great and addicting. You might be having a terrible round, but then there is that one stroke or one hole that makes it up and you keep coming back for more. Wish you more birdies in the future.
Congrats! My first birdie was on a par 3.. I landed a little off to the left in the rough. I was just messing around and took out my lob wedge just to hit it.. and was starting to walk back to the cart and heard the ball go in.

Not true for me. I made my first birdie in August of '03. Waited over a year to repeat it. Then, however, I made a couple more (in fact, the next day, same hole!) so maybe the second one was the psychological barrier for me! At least I've gotten the birdie train rolling!
Way to go, lowrider! Good luck in your pursuit of many more to come!
Way to be lowrider!! I am sure there'll be many many more birdies in your future!
I remember my first one, it was on a par 5 in which they were building a pond next to the fairway, so the tees were moved up and it was playing as a par 4. I hit a 3 iron from around 150 to about 35 feet and sank the uphill birdie! I still have the ball...
