Did you improve this past season

Did this past golfing season show any improvement for you.......for me I would have to say no, struggle all year with neck, shoulder and right arm pain. Although my short game did start to show improvement when I stopped playing in early Nov. I expect to make great Improvement's in 2005 the surgery has eliminated the pain and I plan on getting my handicap down this year. Also plan on doing more work on my short game.

Its been a pretty good golf season for me (the putting hasn't improved though! )

I went from a 19 on the 1st Jan 04
to a 6.5 on the 1st of Jan 05

I'm just hitting straighter more consistently and also further.

I can't really say I improved or declined. I played less this year (cut from 2 times every week, sometimes 3 to only once for sure, sometimes a 2nd), but my scores were more consistent. Nearly every round I had was between 83-86, but I didn't have many rounds below that. I hit the driver better than ever before, but my iron game was a bit off. Chipping and putting about the same. So I'd say I was about the same as the year before.

i think overall i did improve this year. This year i am alot more confiendent in my game. Last year i wasn't and i wasn't hitting the ball right and i knew i needed some help so i got some lesson from this lady ( she was really great and funny too). So this year my game has improved so much. Since i am in high school I am even going to try out for the golf team this year ( 10th). Last year i didn't try out because i wasn't ready but this year i am :nodsmiley ...but i still need to work on my putting and turning my hands more in my swing

I improved a ton. 35 to 24. Yay! Not as significant as GG's, though, but then again, I can't play year-round!

What would you attribute such a drastic improvement to???...that's just awesome!...I'm stuck where you began at, and if I could get down to single digits, I would do a Phil Mickelson jump!

After 3 years of struggling in the mid to high 90's after foolishly taking 5 years off I finally made some progress this year.. I went from a 21 to a 16. Hope to get it down to a 12 next year, which is where I was when I took that break.

The handicap didn't reflect the improvement made by the swing changes I adopted during the past year, nor the shortened putting stroke that improved my accuracy. The better scores didn't start coming until the very end of the season--way too late to have much effect on the handicap.

Watch out next year!

My teacher and I changed so many things that it's difficult to really see the improvement. When I'm really swinging well and doing the right things, it's great. My bad rounds are just as bad, though.

Since I bought my first set of clubs in June, yes. I would have to say that I improved. I had hoped to break 100 my first year as a golfer, but I didn't make it. My lowest score was 112. And I seem to be stuck in the 110-120 range temporarily now that the weather has gone bad in the North.

I am in the same exact spot as you. Golf is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo frustrating.

If only I wouldn't be so stubborn with myself, I could actually break 100, let alone 110.

I took lessons and completely changed my swing. It might be more accurate to say I built a new swing. when I played with my instructor last week he said that my ball striking is way ahead of my short game. Now I am really starting to work on that so I hope to make it to scratch before the end of 2005. one thing about my short game that is good is my chipping technique. Pick up a dave pelz book and copy the chipping technique. I am now starting to work on 30-70 yard shots. It might be a good idea if you go back and read this post Calling All Low Handicappers
