Golf Magazine....Page 84.

In the December issue of Golf Magazine on page 84 there are two pictures of Mo Norman along with an article. Moe Nornam was always an advicator of the baseball grip or the 10 finger grip. If you look on page 84 you can clearly see he is using an overlapping or interlocking grip....not the 10 finger...hmmmmm.

Sorry for this usless bit of info, just thought I'd let you all know.

Did Norman teach the 10 finger grip and not use it himself? The 10 year old picture on Page 82 shows he's using the overlapping grip there too. Are there any Moe Norman fans here that could solve this riddle for us?

Yes I can. Moe Norman was a golfer. All golfers change things up to try new things.
Look at Tiger Woods. He is always striving to improve. In the 1995 canadian open picture of Moe, I count 10 fingers. In the other pictures, I can see where they look like overlapping. Who knows. Bottom line is go with what works for you.

Moe Norman used an overlapping grip when he played competitive golf.

The "baseball/palm grip" was promoted originally by Jack Kuykendall who founded Natural Golf Corporation. Mr. Kuykendall took a "scientific" approach to the golf swing and found that Moe approximated what he perceived to be the "optimum" way to hit a golf ball.

Moe was "used" to promote the Natural Golf way to play. Mr. Kuykendall is no longer with Natural Golf.

Moe was a "Single Axis" player . . . and a remarkable ball striker. Moe's protege, Todd Graves, continues to teach Moe's swing . . . primarily an overlapping grip.

I used to use the ten finger grip untill I was told that I wouldn't ever get better with it. It made me more accurate but I lost a lot of distance.

I'm not a long ball hitter anymore anyway and I have been experimenting with the 10 finger grip. It seems to help me square the club face better and I am more accurate with it. As for losing distance, it does not seem to make much difference, at least with my swing. But the accuracy has certainly improved and I am hitting the ball more often in the center of the club.
