Golf Goals For 2005

Just wondering , what are some of your golf goals for this year ?
Mine is a simple one of just getting to play more regular this year.
Last year, I played maybe three rounds total, but hit the practice range fairly frequent during the early summer months.
I was sort of amazed that my game stayed fairly consistant during the that time, but I want to work on my swing this year & just enjoy getting back out there on the course.
Last year was a good year for work,my daugher is almost two & mommy will hopefully get some time to go out on the links with me since our in laws are close by & don't mind babysitting for us a few hours.
My mom lost a year long bout with Leukemia back in March & the summer flew by.
Hopefully this year will provide me more time for golf.

Play golf as often or more as I did last year.
Establish a USGA index.
Start to teach my oldest (3) how to play. This should be fun. :nodsmiley

I also want to play more...once a week isn't enough and since it's free I should be taking advantage of it while I still can.

An official USGA handicap is in order...I'm tired of being an "abouta"

Go find all the golf balls I've hit into my field so I have some to practice hitting...

Play more courses I haven't before and play with new people.

I'll probably think of more later

Oh card, you can play for free and you only get out once a week ?
You must get your priorities in order young fella... life's too short.

I play many different couses and keep a pretty accurate handicap in a spreadsheet using the USGA formula.

More courses with new people is something everyone should try, people that are better than you if possible. I've had some of my best times the past couple of years playing with good golfers I'd never met.

Wow, you sure aren't shy about making a rather large list GG...but from this view, it looks like you're on your way to getting all those things done this year.

My goal for golf is simply play as often as possible, enjoy just being in the park, play skillfully, relax and smoke a few cigars.

Yeah, I didn't have as much time this summer, but still no excuse for playing once a week. I get out from the course at 2:30, so there's no reason I couldn't play almost every day, since it's not busy then anyway. It's a matter of drive I guess, and I didn't have it last summer!

1. enjoy time on the course with my friends, laugh, swap jokes/stories and smoke cigars.
2. break 40 consistently in my weekly 9-hole after-work league,
3. try to play 18 holes at least every other week,
4. go to the putting green 2-3 times a week during lunch to practice - its only 5 minutes from work and its always empty.

In that order.

First Break 90 by Feb, break 80 by November. Playing around 5 to 6 rounds a month, and around a total of 10 hours a week practicing should help :)

Second, get married in December :)

continued.........

Have a round at totaradale where I hit more than 15 G.I.R off the mens tee's.
Break 70
Beat everyone that faces me in matchplay muahahaha(maybe I'll save that for 2006)
Play a round of night golf and shoot under 80!
Be Fiercely competitive!
Dress more 'golfy' on the course.
Learn to play good in wet and windy weather.

AND IN 2006 I WILL CONQUER THE UNIVERSE
