My 7-iron is 37* and it is my 180 yard club. I don't know carry only as I have bever measured this. I just know that from 180, use the 7, at least in Utah. At lower elevations, it drops to 165, or so.
Of course this is in 40-odd degree weather, even colder sometimes, so it should go up in the summer. Regardless of that, it will go up, as it has been for the past few weeks. I went to the range two days ago and was hitting my 6i 145-160... much better than my average!
mine about 165 but sometimes I feel a little juiced up so I can get 175. I am using ping eye 2's so I would gain more if I hit forged blades but I dont really care to switch

Maybe there is a secret I don't know about...but how does forged blades make you hit the ball further? I played with blades for 6 years and switched to Cleveland TA7 Tour and hit it the same distance. Unless I just don't have a clue, the only way you can hit a different iron further then another iron is if the loft is lower on the iron you're hitting longer?

I could be wrong but I thought that because the metal is a little softer then the ball is able to stay on the clubface a little longer, thus causing it to compress a little more and spring off the face with a little more force. If someone in the know has the answer fill me in, I dont like to have misconceptions.
125 to 135 with a seven iron. I don't hit them long these days, but my accuracy sure has improved in the last 4 months. What a neat feeling it is to hit a 125 yard iron shot and watch it stop 3 feet from the pin...sends goose bumps up and down your spine. Recently I hit a 160 yard 7 wood and it stopped about 5 feet from the pin...talk about feeling good!
