So I was at BC Place today (a football dome) and they had a golf/outdoor adventure show for this weekend. There were different golf companies that had booths set up so you could demo their clubs. I thought i would point out some the clubs that i tried out.
Four clubs I was very impressed by:
-
Wilson Staff Forged Irons: They were simply amazing... nice feeling in the short irons, yet the long irons were still fairly easy to hit! (I like how the irons progress from blades to a cavity type club).
-
Ping S-59 Irons: Every shot felt as soft as butter. A blade that I felt comfortable hitting...
-
Taylormade Rescue Mid: A solid club and had a nice set up.
-
Yonex Cyberstar Driver: This driver felt better in my hands than the Callaway 454 and the Cleveland COMP 460.
Four Clubs i was not impressed by:
-
Cleveland COMP 460: it felt awkward at impact.
-
Callaway Big Bertha 454: also felt awkward...
-
The Callaway Irons: THEY HAVENT CHANGED AT ALL... EXCEPT FOR MAYBE THE DECAL ON THE BACK.
-
Yonex Cyberstar 3 Wood - even though i was hitting into the net, i could tell the trajectory was too low.
These were not all the clubs i tried out... but they were the ones with the largest impact on me. It's funny how some clubs feel better than other clubs, eh?
Overall, the show was great fun. I bought a new Cleveland 60* Lob Wedge... and I am looking forward to the upcoming golf season
