I was so happy with my game yesterday, today I played a seniors tournament I have been playing lately, and I couldnt hit at all...
There is this old guy that used to play well, but had some health problems and doesnt play as he used too... It is the third time I play with him, and he always discharge his frustrations on me, because I am a beginner, today he was plain rude...
So, instead of hitting him, I quit the game in the middle of the 10th hole, I will never play with them again... I am going to play alone from now on...
I know how you feel. I have never had any problems with my regular group of golf buddies but at least three or four times in the last year I have gone to the course only to discover my swing had totally disappeared on me.
Golf is a bizarre sport in that regard. Could you imagine playing basketball and going out one day only to discover that you have forgotten how to dribble. Sometimes I feel as though I have entered the twilight zone out on the course.

That's a great analogy Murph. It's the only sport that's like that ... There are days when I feel like aliens have taken over my body and reflexes when I'm out there.
Sorry to read about your troubles lowrider, but be patient. Golfers are the greatest bunch of guys there are and I'm sure you will soon find the sort of playing partners I have. Try not to play on your own for any length of time as it puts pressure on you to keep your eye on where your ball is going. That's really the job of your partners.Don't give up, don't give up!
The best game I played so far, was when I went alone to the range, along the way, as the guys ahead where slow, two guys joined me, they didnt know me so there was no continuous cheap advice...
Hang in there, lowrider, you'll be just fine. I'm also a beginner (6 months playing) and I understand completely how accomplished players can deflate your ego when they decide to be jerks about it. Nuts to them.
And by the way, giving up the game is NOT an option. For guys like us, the best is yet to come!
Sorry you had such a bad experience.
Sometimes I find I can relax much more playing with other beginners. We'll need to have a game if you ever come to Scotland
