Best ever score

Well, I am sure for lots of you it will be nothing.
But in sunday just gone I got my best ever score.

87

Before that it was 92.
I was over the moon.
The annoying thing when thinking back to the game was, it could have been less, my putting was rotten, I reckon I could have brought the score down by at least 5 strokes with silly little putts.

Never the less, an achievement in my books.

Great job tommythumbs...it's a very good feeling to shoot your lowest round ever...and the great thing about this game is that no matter how low you go, you can always go back out and try to beat it the next time!

It is always satisfying shotting a good round - but there will always be those question marks over what you could have done better. My best round is a 3 under 69 at Paraparaumu Golf Links which is in New Zealand and was voted one of the 100 top golf courses of all time. I play off a 16 - so it is a huge achievement shooting 19 under my handicap. I just had one of those days where everything went right for a while. BUT, I shot 7 under through the front 9 (i hit 3 lucky eagles) and then dropped 4 shots throught he back 9. On any given day 4 over at that course I would be rapt with on the back 9 - but there were so many things I could have done better......

That is why we play the game gents and ladies

Congrats on that round. Shooting low is always fun. For me, it was an 83. At 9 over on the front, i was annoyed with myself. Out on the back nine i started firing at flags and somehow managed 2 over. Im looking to break 80 sometime this year.

Great round tommythumbs. It's always fun just to blow through a barrier like that and not have to sweat the last hole.

My lowest score is a 79 for a round of 18, and a 37 for a round of nine. Congrats on your low round. After you start shooting lower rounds, you find that putting really IS one of the most importand part of the game. I had 4-5 three putts when I shot that 79. Could have easily shot 75

Congrats tommythumbs...working to set personal low scores is something that makes this crazy game so much fun...

My personal best is an even par 72 which I had this past summer. Had to play the much harder back 9 first and had a 4 over 40.... But went out on the easier front and just blistered it with birdies on the 2nd through 4th holes and sunk a putt from off the fringe on the 9th to shoot a 4 under 32 If it wasn't for lipped out birdie putts on the 1st and 6th and a lipped out eagle putt on the 3rd I could have had a 29 :faintthud

my best round was this past sunday. NOT my best score, my best round. i was hammering my drives all day, hitting my irons sweet & accurate with nice human sized divots, & sticking my wedges when need be. i hit 9 GIR, which i've never done in a round before & had 9 putts at birdie.

the problem was, i took 51 putts. couldn't get that ball anywhere remotely close to the hole all day. ended up with 101. if i'd putted anywhere near human(say 18 2 putts for 36) i would've had a pretty decent score. BTW my record is 94 thus far.
