Boy I must be odd here. When I play I can't stand to have anything other then one golf tee in my pants pockets I guess it's a mental thing for me. Everything must go wallet, scorecard, pencils are all kept in my golf bag.
Now in my golf bag I keep everything ball, tees, 3 towels, permanent markers, scorecards, small ball retriever, rules book, umbrella, just about everything except the kitchen sink..
This is one of those threads that exposes us O.G`S...because about 15 years ago I used to throw the clubs into the car, hit the road and and if I didn`t have what I needed when I got to the course I either improvised or `borrowed` what I needed
Fifteen years later and man.................. ..............it takes me 15 minutes to just leave my house, asking myself
"...C-B-C,...have you got your phone, your wallet, trolley, shoes, clubs, water, roadside recovery card, hat, sugary snack, stud tightener, tees, golf balls, sharpened pencil, spare sharpened pencil, windcheater jumper, umbrella...I`m thinking of getting the list printed & laminated "
Then I go back indoors to check I haven`t left the gas on, telly/computer on, and that I`ve left the dog out....and we don`t even have a dog
I try to keep things to a minimum. The only things I carry in my pocket are 3 shiny pennies (ala Jack Nicklaus, 1 to mark my ball, 1 to loan if necessary and a spare penny in case I lose one) and a pitch repair tool. I keep two tees tucked in the velcro part of my glove.
My bag contains:
1 dozen ProV1's in various stages of use that I use when I practice.
2 sleeves of new ProV1's,
a small pocket filled with tees (short and long),
2 pencils,
2 extra pitch repair tools,
2 towels (1 wet 1 dry),
4 gloves (2 used 2 new)
1 black Sharpie marking pen
1 small bottle of sun screen
1 small Sports Rosin bag to keep my right hand dry on hot humid days
1 24 ounce water bottle
1 cell phone (silenced, but checked every 3rd hole in case of emergency)
1 small medical pouch containing band-aids, Advil, eye drops and a pocket knife
1 money clip containing cash and my Driver's License
1 club cleaning brush
1 plastic covered photo of my wife and son attached to my bag.
I add several more towels and the appropriate umbrella and rain gear if the waether dictates.
When you list everything it seems like alot but it's really not. Most everything on that list gets used at least once every couple of rounds.
Whatever's in my bag, which normally includes random tees, divot repair tools, ball markers and golf balls (not to mention clubs, but that's a given), and a Nike Golf towel that I got for Christmas 2003 (which matches my bag quite nicely). Then I carry my glove and my wallet in my pocket. I wear my watch and golf shoes, hat, shirt and shorts.
well lets see
a dozen balls mostly nike and titlest
glove
about 24 tees
plastic club face brush
towel
cell phone
divot repair tool
bottle of gatorade or water
band-aids
and wallet
thats about it
oh yea and some golf clubs
In the bag:Clubs , Balls ,extra glove , two towels , and the rest of the necessities.
I carry half a dozen tees , two balls and in my right pocket a Bione divot tool that was given to me by a complete stranger when i was a kid , at the time i had no idea what it was! But I have always kept it , maybe that old guy knew something i didnt!
I always have balls, 10-12 usually nike, 2 towels, one attached to my bag, the other loose, tees, gloves, and an umbrella in the bag
In my left pocket is a Maine quarter(my favorite and a recent addition), a divot repair tool I got at the PGA show, and an extra ball. Nothing in the right.
I have 12 balls which I change every 6 holes - but will then re-use them again in the next round i play.
2 drinks (water and then something else like a powerade or the like)
2 divot tools (1 is a Penn State one as my partners name is Penny and she loves Penn State, the other is one from St. Andrews)
I used to have 2 markers one with my name engraved in it in gothic writing from hawaii my partner got me, the other was a coin with Alexander the Great on one side and the Oracle at Delphi on the other side (some guy ran past me at the last weekend and he ran straight into me and I dropped them both as I was getting them out and checking my bag stuff - and they dropped into a drain never to be seen again)
2 towels 1 hanging 1 loose
Usually a weat weather glove.
then an assortment of tees
A lot less than I used to. I have started carrying my bag, so I am trying not to bring anything I don't need. Besides the usual tee's, ball's, gloves I have Blistex, case of Scorpion spikes, band aids and things. I have now also added, after leaving my wallet at home, an extra $40 in a Cohiba cigar tin. I don't know if there is a worse feeling than driving half an hour to a course, walking up to pay and realizing your wallet is at home.
